Funny thing is that this picture is a different one than Sauli posted on his own IG earlier. Guess he send some to Adam from that photoshoot. Happy birthday Sauli!

Something fun to pass the time: 🐬 🐬 @__waitaminute__ March Madness was actually referring to the insanity experienced by someone waiting for adam lambert to release his album 👀

yesterday I posted the imdb link for BR the movie and noted that there was no mention of any original song... today I checked the imdb full cast and crew for Skyfall(Adele), Specter(SS) an Captain Underpants(Adam/Aretha) just to see if the singers/songwriters are there...much to my surprise they are not!
in other words - there is still hope!

Ok so discussion topics to keep our interest. Why didn't Adam do any songs on his first album with Red.....?. the guy who always had artists say his name in their songs. Thinking Gaga and Katie may have done songs with him. I think we saw a vid where he said he was signing up for 6 songs with Adam, but then we didn't ever hear anything else. Adam did address this at one point in an interview. There was no drama just down to timing and schedules. They worked together for a day (maybe 2) before the Idol tour started. They had some demos from that session but after tour when Adam was finishing the album they couldn't get their schedules to mesh in order to finish up any of the songs so that was why none of them made it on the album. In other words they never had "completed" songs and just never could connect to finish them.

I think the goal of using non-white actors in these shows that have traditionally been all white is to simply show that the race of the characters should not matter. The themes and ideas behind the story should be what counts. Certainly the real Jesus and his contemporaries, living in the Middle East, had a deeper skin tone than many of the stereotypical "white" versions we see of what they may have looked like. It's getting far more common to see actors of color, male and female, to be cast in roles that have long been filled by light-skinned people. It's a sign of the times. It's about inclusion and open-mindedness and a more "color-blind" mentality. It's about the story applying to everyone, regardless of color. I get the all inclusion thing but it's 2018 and not 1980 when "All in the family" was on. But what I'm mostly referring to is in the article they talk about Hamilton opening up the possibility of putting blacks in nontraditional roles and that opened them up to putting Legend in as Jesus, even thought they expect to get some trolls commenting about it (which they did). But I'm not understanding why Hamilton had to be first before they would try it for JCS. I guess I just don't find it shocking or even avant garde. If they wanted that they would do an almost all black cast with a white Judas, putting the white guy in the betrayer position even though JCS is about finding the good in Judas. In the '79 movie it was major to have a black man in the role of Judas but it was also very telltale in white = good and black = bad in the white hat vs black hat western way. But that brings me back to American bigotry. I don't know if conservatives are more wedded to a white Jesus or white founding fathers. What if Jesus was gay? Would that explode more heads? I don't know, I just hear that JCS was about pushing boundaries. Maybe a black Jesus during the Obama years wouldn't have been but during the HeWhoCannot amed era it is? I'm going to try and watch but I think I'll be doing a a lot of comparing to what could have been because of course I'll put Adam in every role. Lots of articles coming out. Here's one that has this week's rehearsal for Whats the Buzz. www.billboard.com/articles/news/television/8265775/john-legend-facebook-jesus-christ-superstar-watchDancers look good. Jablea, thanks for your reply back to me. I kind of missed your point a bit and went into a different direction. We are definitely past the "Oh my! They have cast a black person in a role that is always played by a white person!" That is old news now. I guess I was making more of general observation about the evolution of race issues in recent years. I think people think less and less anymore about the race of someone playing a particular role. It's becoming so common to mix it up. I think it generally makes the story richer and shows that most stories are very universal.

Sleepwalker against Whataya want from me in the first round? No way! I have serious problems with some of the decisions.😂 This is such a great idea, and I love them for doing it. As they said, it's hard! haha I wish "Broken Open" had been there instead of either one of the first two FYE singles, since it's my favorite from that album and, in my opinion, still one of his very best songs. melliemom I agree, a bit. For me, it depends on the context and who is saying it, which speaks to the intent and tone of it. Brian or Roger saying it in his presence, or one of his friends, or a diehard Glambert or an LGBTQ fan... I think they are all saying it warmly and in keeping with his own blending of the feminine and the masculine. Especially within the LGBTQ community, that sort of relaxed gender boundary can be a warm inside joke (though it's not always that, of course). Coming from these voices, it doesn't bother me. But it comes across very differently when said from the context of a non-fan's perspective, assuming that the target audience of the "joke" is also straight and/or non-fans (as I have seen with some awful YouTube comments in QAL, AL, or MM videos). Those comments are clearly meant to belittle him, leaning on the whole homophobic notion that being feminine diminishes a man (which is silly, of course, but cultural stereotypes are slow to fade).
