If this is not real POETRY I don't know what is IMO: Broken pieces, break into me So imperfectly what you should be
I don't want you to go Don't wanna see you back out in the cold Air you're breathing out fills you with gray fades you to gray Don't run away, find me
I know the battles of chasing the shadows Of who you oughta be wanna be It doesn't matter, go on and shatter I'm all you need
Broken pieces, break into me So imperfectly what you should be Lay here, it's safe here, I'll let you be broken open
Hide you, confide to you so we can be broken open Hide here, confide here
Let's alight in the night We can fall away, slip out of sight When you drop your guard Melted in time, so entwined, quiet
I know the battles of chasing the shadows Of who you oughta be It doesn't matter, go on and shatter I'm all you need
Broken pieces, break into me So imperfectly what you should be Lay here, it's safe here, I'll let you be broken open
Hide you, confide to you so we can be broken open Hide here, confide here
I have no idea if Adam can write music but he sure is a great lyricist. Even the silly DRH has great lyrics... Whoever thinks otherwise is just trying to put Adam down and they can't touch his singing ability so they go to pick on other things... let them.. it changes nothing ;D Some of those lyrics are wrong, but the good news is that the correct ones make it even better. I put what I believe to be the correct ones in red. I have always loved the imagery of "air you're breathing out fades you to grey". It is so evocative and sad.

He is truly a beautiful soul - here's the music.

Silly lyrics and Top 40 songs. Let's try Hot Chelle Rae, Tonight...
La, La, La, whatever La, La, La, It doesn't matter La, La, La, oh well La, La, La
I love this part of the song. The lyrics are defintely not profound, but they are fun.

I love MacArther Park!! It is so much fun to sing along to I forgive the cake parts and the totally melodramatic melody!!!! Ooooooooh Oh! There are many great version -- love Donna Summers' disco version. But this is the best "cover" of it: Does anyone remember an Adam interview where he talked about writing pop songs? He said something about putting too many lyrics into the songs. Yes, I remember this interview -- he was talking about songwriting and how he had learned you could not include too many lyrics. I think it was during the early part of GNT but I do not remember when it was.

OK, get a glass of wine, turn down the lights, put your headphones on, close your eyes, and listen to Robin Banks... She's one of my favorite blues singers and I NEED Adam to sing this song. Hell, he turned WLL into a bluesy song, so he could kill this song. Before I die, I wanna hear Adam doing some blues jams. Wine, check. Lights down, check. Headphones on, check. Eyes closed, check. Listen to Robin Banks, check. I want Adam to sing blues too. Tomorrow when I'm sober I may feel otherwise. (And if this post turns out any way other than garbled I'll be surprised.) BURRITO, BB!!!!! WHERE YA BEEN???

But seriously, on a blues note, "I was booooooorn by the river....." The boy can sang blues. The boy can sang anything.

ITA. See almost every song by every popular artist right now. You want cheesy lyrics? You got 'em! Bruno: "Tomorrow I'll wake up, do some P90X, meet a really nice girl, have some really nice sex." The Adam lazy song would have to say: Tomorrow I'll wake up, do a colon cleansing fast, talk to my really nice guy, have some really nice sex
