The smiles on their faces and the way they describe our donations and crashing the server makes me so happy. We as a community of caring people touched peoples lives that day. Through our donations we gave water, but more importantly we gave hope that there are people out there who really care. |

Have most of the people left BM or are they just showing a different part tonight? Looks pretty empty. www.ustream.tv/burningmanI have the ustream open currently, what is that big castle like building? A central meeting area? Is that also going to be burned???? That is the Temple that they are burning tonight. Isn't it beautiful? And the reasin I said it looks so empty is because I am not seeing as many lights and vehicles as previous nights. I'm thinking though that maybe it is just the angle or a different location? |

The "Man" burned last night--that was the big one. The building shown now is "The Temple" and it will burn at 9--about 45 min. It's a place where people go for a spiritual fix and some write messages on the walls or pin things to it (this is just what I've gathered from reading/chat.) This is the last burn. Lots of people left today to avoid huge traffic, but some stay for the last urn tonight and then head out tomorrow (or some even on Tuesday morn.) NOTE: On my laptop, the volume is all the way up, but the BMIR broadcast is so low volume I can barely hear it. Same as last night. If you open another window with this link, you can hear the music/commentary better (at least I can.) They have played some really cool/weird music that I've NEVER heard before all weekend long. Btw, Cayman, I'll bet you were a fireball as a child! my sound is good enough...I use external speakers, so I just turn them up... don't you think the word "PLAYA" ( dry lake )happens to fit so perfectly? - amazing ! also... the music they play seems to sound the same way as the music my DD+friends listen to...so I suppose it's cool, I should ask her what this stuff is.... (you can create it by turning on a preset background on any electric piano and just let it run without any playing ;D ;D ;D) great lyrics : "just tell my why you said good bye" and keep repeating it for about 15 minutes ;D ;D ;D |
