That's very exciting, Q3, where does Demi's "Skyscraper" fit in? And "Mr. Know It All"? Since they released right before the September list, they'd still be considered climbing, but I agree, no major Diva Domination at the moment. And LMAO that Nicole Sherzinger's song is "Don't Hold Your Breath"! Appropriate title is appropriate, IMO. She may get some impetus from "X-Factor," but her singing on Idol was painful and I stand by my contention that there doesn't seem to be one single authentic thing about her. It's like she was assembled in a discount pop diva laboratory. ASSUMING that Adam's first single is as rumored -- the Benny Blanco track -- it will have little similarity to either of these songs. I do not see either Kelly or Demi being in Adam's way. Both will get airplay and move up the charts. But both songs will be at least 6 weeks old when Adam's single comes out. At this point, it will all depend on how much CHR listeners like Adam's new single. Adam does not have enough fans to have a hit like Gaga because he put it out (that is the only way to explain the rise of "You and I". But he will certainly get a good shot. Regarding CHR PDs not caring about how "good" music is -- PDs care about how popular music is, not how good it is. Occasionally, a song is good and popular -- I think Adele's RITD fits into that category. The pop divas put out music that is popular with listeners -- so take Britney's latest track -- sure it is an engineered track with modified vocals but listeners do not care how a song is made, the care about what they hear. Finally, all bets are off if Adam and RCA surprise me and release a weak lead single for Adam. I DO NOT EXPECT THIS. But it could happen. I was not been impressed with the lead singles released by RCA for Cook or Kelly. Kelly is certain to do better than Cook did and will have a hit. I just think that MKIA is a weak lead single compared to her big songs, and not on the level of AG or MLWSWY. Since I have not heard Adam's single yet, I reserve judgment until I hear it.

Thanks for the radio charts, Q3. I love to analyze numbers. Right now I find it interesting that Someone Like You is #1 on i-Tunes but #20 on radio play (can we say radio doesn't 'get' it!) And Britney is #1 on radio but #19 on i-Tunes. Radio "gets" it. It just takes a while for a song to climb up the mediabase charts. Someone Like You is #1 on iTunes due to the performance on the VMAs last week. Once it made it into the top 10 (and to the front page of iTunes), music buyers saw that Adele had a new song on the charts and they are buying it. SLY jumped 6 spots last week to work its way up into the top 20. It will continue to move up at a faster than average pace, which is pretty amazing for a song that doesn't even sound like it fits in with the current CHR top 20 songs.

Track sales often are triggered by a TV event and not radio. Then radio follows. But radio airplay is often managed at the request of the artist's label -- they did not really start to play Adele's new song until RITD had fallen on the chart. RITD dropped out of the CHR Top 10 until 8.16.11...when it hit #11: 10 11 ADELE Rolling In The Deep 6103 7257 -1154 37.945 and on 8.16.11, her next single was already getting airplay and moving up the chart and had entered the Top 40 at #39. 49 39 ADELE Someone Like You 813 498 315 4.808 No sure that a label can manage an artist more efficiently and effectively than that.

My understanding of BM is that the installations are carefully planned, broken down into small parts and individuals bring parts with them. Then they are assembled on site.
It is really a logistics wonder!! (Of course there are a lot of trucks and large RVs involved in this event.

I really don't have a problem with Katy...yes I wish she could sing better and blah blah.....but I do like Teenage Dream a lot and the majority of her music is fun, catchy non offensive pop, but I really wish radio would stop playing it every 5 minutes. Maybe it's my fault for even listening to radio to begin with...but it's horrible how overplayed she is. Now I want Adam to do well...I want him to totally smash with this next album and get massive airplay...but if they play him as much as Katy I will be annoyed too. Modern radio is just atrocious....
