Over a million in one week is nothing short of amazing! He did it without a 99 cent deal at Amazon too. The fact that he has this many fans who paid for and did not steal his music says a lot. Over all, 2011 has been a good year for record sales. And a little sidebar to these figures for LilWayne, he is one of the artists who decided to release on a Monday.
I wonder if Adam might actually exceed his FYE opening week sales?

Just returning to PC after a power outage, with kids unfortunately scared. Not only was the house dark and they are not used to that, we had to do homework at candle light / flash light, which of course left the rest of the house dark and scary and then this stupid fire alarm starts beeping for no reason from the dark (did I miss one battery last time I changed them or inserted an old one? Dunno...) anyhow, everything together made for some very unhappy kids and I just realized again how dependent we all have become and was thinking of Bamafan and her many weeks of struggles and all the others who had to or still have to deal with much bigger issues than this little thing. Very grateful for safe and normal conditions otherwise, and my thoughts are with those who are struggling with floods and fire and other disasters. Kids are sleeping soundly now, so all is well.

I guess, you guys meanwhile found a much more convincing or likely BM - picture than I had earlier, and now even that has turned out to be nothing. I had a great time playing Sherlock Holmes together with you though. Thanks for the laughs, NoAngel.

Regarding the yahoo search page: I am a little bit questioning how this page is put together. I am very aware that Adam has lots of fans in Iran, but according to this statistic, so does KA or Daughtry. That seems doubtful at best. US is normally shown as 100.

100 what?

100 percent, as in this number or percentage establishes the baseline for the statistic? I entered a few other names, many of them not from US and/or not from music and yet US remained almost always on the top. Iran was very often one of the top searches....so I need to see how they come up with those numbers. Also, why do the numbers hardly change if the time interval is changed (i.e. from 1 month to 6 months). I don't have time to play around with it a lot tonight, but I am just taking these statistics a bit with a grain of salt until I understand better how they were put together and what exactly they mean.

Finally, I have a question. I was wondering whether our Russian speakers happen to have listened to the two videos from Ukraine that were posted today. In the first one (Soaked), the judges seem to not like the song choice and wanted something in Russian or Ukrainian and the debate over why he did sing in English seemed a bit odd, but the judge seemed to also set up the contestant and tease him and lead him on like forever (not sure how that would improve anyone's performance in such a tense moment). Then in the second video (WWFM), the audience loved the song choice immediately and recognized the name Adam Lambert and WWFM, but the judges did not like the choice. Why not? Could not make that out. Do these judges have a bias against Adam or against all foreign music or what is going on? Just wondering.

Clearly the judges are at least familiar with Adam and his music, as compared to some judges on American reality TV singing shows - yes Mr. Levine, pointing at you.

These interpretations by other contestants just show me again and again how superior Adam really is. Even if the song is technically mastered, which is usually already a BIG 'if', on the interpretive side the performances just demonstrate how Adam is miles ahead of every one of them. It is sometimes important to see that, because Adam makes it look so effortless that I think it is easy to sometimes underestimate what it takes to sing it as well as Adam does.
