....but guise, do you see what these people wear? Looks to me like one needs a great ass and the proclivity to expose it. Ha, I just posted this over on the new thread ... Here is my first thought. As I looked at all those young, tanned, scantily clad bodies I could not help but wonder at the possible sunburns and more apropos, how gawd-awful I would look dressed like that. Then I started to consider how inappropriate that style of dress is for the desert. Generations of nomadic desert living has actually developed a mode of dress which is not only perfect for the conditions but is also more concealing for the less than perfect body, ie. light-colored, light-weight linen that is flowing and covers the body from head to foot just like Lawrence of Arabia. It keeps a person cool and protected. We would look good like that regardless of our age and body shape and for those special occasions we could make the robes out of this... ETA: and the LED material can be purchased as table cloths, j/s ;D [laugh] Actually, I was thinking more along the lines of: But in all seriousness, one could just buy a light-colored summerweight abaya (its a flowing robe often worn in Muslim countries, and available anywhere as a mailorder item). It would be both cool and provide sun/sand protection. I saw some beautiful abayas on the web (some are very heavy on the crystals and embrodiery; the ones below are mostly "high fashion" abayas), but if I were to get one, I would just get a plain version with a nice cut and decorate it as I liked. Saw some for under $40. *** decoratable:
