Smokey: Hurry up and move to Georgia so that you can join us for the DVD viewing party at Mayumi's house. Or, come for the weekend to house hunt and join us. Gainesville is not that far from where Mayumi lives. We are gonna have a blast! I'm already signed up - will be there with bells on my toes.

YAY!!! Thank you so much! I hope no one has this - please let me know if you do and I'll change. I love you all! One last thing, to make justkaren happy, plus we all like an undistorted Adam. To get the ratio of the picture just right you need to go into your profile and change the avatar width to 89 and the avatar height to 100, then Adam will not be distorted at all. Done! So excited to have such a perfect avi!

OTT - boot song for Idol: Simon Fuller and David Cook (?) Working on 'Kiss-Off' Song Thanks to Nigel Lythgoe's Twitter account, we may have some intel on the "extra treat" David Cook's been working on. "Simon Fuller has been working on the "kiss-off" track for #AmericanIdol this Season. I think it's great," tweeted Nigel. Meanwhile, Cook told fans on Twitter that his "treat" will air on March 3, when the pool will allegedly be cut from 24 to 10. Thus, if the stars align as we predict, Cook will be debuting the "kiss off" song that night. www.tvsquad.com/2011/02/22/idol-news-beat-online-voting-shocking-spoilers-and-james-dur/

Got in the car in Myrtle Beach at 6am, drove 11.5 hours to PA, dinner with family, little bit of Candyland with granddaughter, visited with everyone for few hours, watched (sucky)AI together, said I was tired, went into bedroom, locked the door, came on Adamtopia to see what was going on today. My daughter just knocked on the door and said, "I know what you're doing in there.." I felt like a 13 yr old boy locked in the bathroom with a picture of Pamela Anderson. I guess I really am that transparent about what my priorities are.... but geez, I gave them 5 hours of what would normally be my Adam time. savvy savvy savvy... This made me srsly SNORT out loud!!! I friggin' love your posts when you're with your family, and I even copied one from way back in July, which totally cracked me up: "... wonderful granddaughter is in bed, and just ditched my 92 year old mother for 20 min so I can at least have a few Adam minutes. I can hear my daughter lurking outside the door, which I have locked, waiting for me to come out. I will never last these 2 weeks."

This season's AI: Finally watched an entire episode tonight, and my verdict is in. For me, Adam broke Idol. Plain and simple.
Having said that, I agree with others that JLo and Perry are interesting judges. Idol also seems to have harvested a larger group of good singers. The quality and quantity are the best of the seasons I have seen. Any other time before Adam I would have been very interested. Now, not so much.
After watching tonight I had to go back and watch the footage of Adam's audition and Hollywood week performances. No comparison. Such a palpable difference. 1. As I keep saying (Randy and I are broken records?) Adam live doesn't sound like Adam live. It sounds too good. It sounds too perfect. It sounds too polished. It sounds produced in the studio. Most of the kids I saw tonight sounded good, but there would be no way to imagine they were not live. Really, folks, one of the miracles of Adam's voice is that it just rolls out of his mouth with such finesse, such beautiful tone, such a finished sound. A sound I never hear from pop/rock singers except from a studio recording. 2. When Adam stands still and just sings the stillness runs deep. No nervous twitches, no deer in headlights stiffness. It is stillness with power, purpose and energy. When Adam moves he moves with purpose and grace. It fits the performance and adds to it. In stillness or in movement, Adam owns the stage. 3. It is sometimes difficult to appreciate how good Adam's voice is --- especially when so many others are so bad. Of course he sounds better; in a different league. But, listening to all those GOOD singers tonight, Adam still sounds like he is from a different world.
Tonight I think I finally understood the "theatrical" comment, too. All of those things I noted above result in a performance that is thoroughly professional, at the highest level. It is finished. It is complete. Perfectly crafted. Probably for some, too polished and professional to the point of being unreal or "theatrical." Not for me, tho. For me it is yummy, rich indulgence I can get lost in.
Sorry to wax so flowery and OTT. What can I say? Adam broke Idol for me and listening to good, promising singers no longer holds my interest.

BreakingNews Breaking News 2 volcanoes in Far East Russia island of Kamchatka spew ash, threaten air traffic - Voice of Russia
Okay, volcano in Phillipines, earthquake in NZ. Earthquake activity in Japan. On our side, major quake in Chile. Seems there is a chain reaction going on in the Pacific Ring Of Fire. Next it will be something in California in the Bay area. This is flipping scary.
