Awesome recap Happy! You've covered our adventures in great detail!
It was great spending those 3 days with you and Mszue, and meeting other Atoppers at the Friday dinner, including Q3. While Bavette's Steakhouse at the MGM Park is pretty expensive, the food was very good and they really did accommodate our group. The exchange is a killer for us Canadians but we got to the point that it was just all part of the experience. The smoking in the casinos was definitely hard to take so we didn't spend anymore time there than needed. My trip home was a real let down after all the excitement of the shows, with major delays in both flights so that I arrived in Victoria at 12:30 am instead of 7:45 pm. Once we finally boarded the flight out of Vegas, we spend more than an hour on the runway waiting to take off as there were about 20 planes stacked up for takeoff, while planes were arriving every few minutes as well. No more airports for me for a while!
While videos are great, especially when we cannot be at the concerts, it still doesn't compare to Adam's voice live. So much power, warmth, beautiful tone, you really get immersed in him. Being so close you get to see all the little facial expressions and nuances of the outfits. I loved being so close at the end of the thrust the first night, the best seat I've ever had, but really almost had a more "full" experience the second night being back in section 304, row E, which was center stage so you got the full effect of the staging, the lighting, the sound wrapping around you. Not fun to have those 2 empty seats beside me, and a gentleman on the other side who never stood up until the final bows, didn't always applaud and did not seem to be into the show. Several folks in front of me also were very quiet. Most people stayed seated other than a few times, but many were just as much into the show. I did try my hand at a couple of videos from section 304, but am by no means an experienced videographer.
The fun and joy the whole band has on stage is so wonderful to behold, and I hope Brian & Roger will be able to keep it going for a while longer, as it seems to make them very happy.
