I'm ready to do my recap, but coming home, after just flying in from Las Vegas about two hours ago, I'm seeing Brian's message - and I have a few thoughts. I don't think it's about the work of the performance. I attended three shows, and every crowd was wildly adoring. Even those who didn't 'clap' or call out at the right time. I think it's about Las Vegas. About the temperament, the atmosphere, and the spirit there that existed for Brian for the-two thirds of the day when Queen wasn't preparing and performing. He lived there for a month. I can't think of an environment more alien to one accustomed to the mist and green of English countryside than Las Vegas. I know nothing about what Brian really thinks, but I'm reminded of a conversation I had with one of the members of the company who put on the show for the past month, who said "I'm just so tired - I need to get out of this place". It may be the energy of the artifice; the casinos, the facade, the all-encompassing cigarette smoke, the heat, the lack of true human connection as one person passes another through teeming masses; the excess of all that, in reality, means nothing. Brian might think that in spite of giving his last bit of cellular energy to the crowd each night, he was left wondering if the crowd, and its adulation, was as temporary and as artificial as the city in the desert. I'll put it out there. I don't think Queen will ever do another LV residency. The emotional work of being there for a month negated a measure of the satisfaction, the accolades, of the attendees. Were the fans there to be inspired, to 'care for the people on the edge of the night' - or were they going to pour their lives into a cocktail or a slot machine after the stage went dark? Just my personal thoughts; thinking of how 'hollow' the LV Strip felt to me. My apologies to anyone who actually lives, and loves, Las Vegas. I relate so completly to this. My family loved Las Vegas. I resisted going until I had to attend a family 50th anniversary party. John and I flew in late afternoon and out the very next morning. My experience with Las Vegas is mine and not meant to be judgmental. I often feel like an alien and in Las Vegas it is hugely heightened. I say this because in observing Brian and his exquisitely sensitive and emphathic nature, I imagine Mom's post is on the mark. I stayed in an AirBnB with a fun family 15 minutes away and didn't come to the strip except for the shows. Avoided walking through any casino and therefore no issues with the smoke. That was a big help. Brian lived smacked in the middle of it all. So glad he got to go to beautiful Sedona and other places as a relief. There is a lot of beauty and sacred spaces in the high desert country. Maybe if he was housed away from it all and just came in for the shows it could work better. But then again, is it really that important? They played LV. They triumphed there. Perhaps it is now an item crossed off the bucket list. These guys are all profesionals and they are used to living on the road. If they do another residency, they may rethink what they do with entertaining guests or going for sightseeing. I know I dont like casino smoke, but I know how do avoid it. My hotel room at Wynn was quite nice. Not my lifestyle thing, but it was vacation.

@katlee056: The closing night of ‘Crown Jewels’ Queen + Adam Lambert concert was 😍🤯😵 SO good. Brian May and Roger Taylor were just as amazing as they’ve always been, and Adam Lambert couldn’t have paid a better tribute to Freddie! Seriously one of the best experiences, ever. 👑 twitter.com/katlee056/status/1044058476341690368@katlee056: Adam Lambert said he could never live up to Freddie Mercury, but no one else could have done him better justice. Not only is his vocal range mind blowing, he has a personality, an aura, a presence onstage that you can’t help but be completely captivated by. @katlee056: Also, Adam, Boo could you teach me some makeup tricks, cause dayum. You lookin good.

I just got back from Vegas. Videos really don't do it justice. Favorite show opener for me so far, and the purple coat looks stunning!! Adam keeps surprising me as he keeps improving on all levels ... his vocals, showmanship and stage presence from my perspective are second to none. Love him so much. And the audience did too. He makes it look so easy and playful but I do recognize how much hard work and fine tuned skills are behind it. I really want it all for him. On one hand, he and Queen are such a highly addictive, well oiled "machine", but on the other hand I really can't wait for Adam's own music either.

Great Set of shows. The audience was prob different to a typical QAL Audience. But from the videos I hav watched. They seem pretty receptive. This may be the last ever QAL. Who knows really. They have nothing left to proove.
As for nxt. Shoshanna did say stuff in the pipeline. Music hopefully by end of year. Won't have an LP until later nxt year. But a single be nice. Maybe November.
