Guys, I lurk on fye and from what I gathered there, Adam's tbd date hasn't been changed, just the header of the section which he's listed under. Now his album is grouped with all known albums to drop in 2011 and 2012. I don't have access to pulse forums nor do I feel invested enough to create an account, but if anyone here has access then can they post screencaps? He said one of the reasons that he thinks that we are not seeing all of the great music that we did years ago, is that artists now days are spending way to long getting albums out and then when months and months go by, people are expecting something epic and are for the most part disappointed and wonder why it took so long to produce what they did. Coldplay and REM were a couple of the examples he gave. Not to mention that people have had a long time to move on - especially not great for the "new" who are trying to establish a fan base. It doesn't make any sense: music was great in the past because artists took SHORTER time to release album? I was under the impression that the grater care, effort and TIME taken, the better chances for high quality products. Michael Jackson put out new albums every 3-4 years on average. Pop stars of today seem to work like there's no tomorrow and churn out new music every 1-2 years. The theory that in the past artist put out new music more often than now doesn't actually hold all that well. To top that: I find the notion that today there's no great music absurd.

Is something wrong with the board? I am having trouble copy and pasting, it is all wonky? I saw on twitter that the pulse insider has changed Adam's date from Tbd to 20112012? Does anyone know anything about this "insider"? He's on retail end and has had information in the past, based on what information is told to retailers. He changed everyone without a firm date to 2011/2012. Daughtry is still not listed. I don't find this any reason to worry necessarily. Kelly wasn't getting any buzz until her dates were announced, then it started ramping up pretty quickly. The thing that irritates me is that the announcement to move to DMG was on August 7; he is STILL not on its website. WTAF is that? Also, his IMdB listing hasn't been changed. His management is still listed as 19. That shit takes two minutes to change. REALLY irritates me and they never put out a press release. Also doesn't look like AO is being revamped in any way. I went there on my phone and man, it is hard to read. That website really needs an overhaul. Badly.

Q3 Haven’t read any of the thread except your post. I think what you said is true, for the most part, but I also think 911 made some people pull back, make every issue “us vs them,” worry about their own deaths and salvation. That, in turn, encouraged the good vs evil mentality with anything they weren’t comfortable with (Adam) became something to fight and protect their children from.
With the 2 factions, “live life to the fullest you never know when it will end,” and “live a good, pure life to prepare for the hereafter because it could be today,” the path was cleared for what we have today, fundamentalist crazies (not all of them,)the Tea Party, versus the do-gooders (not a negative term to me.) It’s kind of like the Vietnam War era, you were either for the war or against it, very little middle ground.

RCA seems to wait to re-vamp artist webpages until a new album is released. Hopefully Adam has more influence over the webpage then dear sweet RCA Ed. I'd even take Neil re-designing the webpage then ED. ;D

I’ve actually sparred with Neil a few times, NoAngel, and tried to tell him that life isn’t so black and white for everyone. That owning a home, having children, paying taxes, struggling to make a living gives each person a different perspective on life. I love him to death and respect his intellect, but bullying, no matter what form it takes, just doesn’t work. If he ever learns that, he will be a great asset to the people who believe as he does. I think it’s a real life thing and he hasn’t really had to participate in real life yet.

true, that the expectations rise with every "it's worth waiting" message. re lack of promo/buzz: given today's date - I just thought that from the strategic POV it would be difficult to start any kind of promo now or in the coming week - all the shows/programs will be devoted to 9/11 anniversary as they should. Logically it makes sense to hold at least until the next week. Of course I am completely ignorant in anything "music promo", so this is just me as a "consumer" talking... actually I would feel resentful towards anyone who would be promoting their album right now.... the "eight weeks" can still be right and I am holding on to that. OT: what is going on on twitter with Neil? what is everyone arguing with him about? Why are they talking vaccination stuff? On one of the political debates earlier this week, I think something was mentioned about Gardasil, which set off a twitter debate with Neil. (should you vaccinate or not?) He is for vaccination and it got pretty nasty. There were a couple of people on Twitter who are absolutely convinced their daughters are now suffering from severe reactions to the vaccinations (one is certain her child developed colitis). thx... I could not figure out why would he argue medical issues but I can see Neil reacting to a right wing lunacy on any topic...he is really into that stuff Moria - your clarification re pulse is reassuring. Sounds like a page formatting change, not a substance change.

NoAngel, I adored your blog today. I have tried so hard to like Neil Lambert but damn, I just can't. I finally realized I'm under no obligation to like the man just because he shares DNA with Adam.
I can only hope his behavior is due to immaturity and that he will improve with age. I can't understand how it is ever acceptable to just blast people for holding opinions that differ from one's own.
Adam is a sweetheart and changes minds every day by sticking to his guns in a principled steady manner. This is the way to persuade ... to lead by example. He is a wonderful man.
Q3, I loved your thoughts on 9/11. You have given me something to think about all day ... the artistic world and it's failure to address our changing times in a meaningful way. I believe some of that has finally started to change and Adam is one of those artists.
ETA: It occurs to me that the great art and novels regarding the Civil War were created by the children and grandchildren of the conflict. Perhaps 9/11 was so momentous that the consensus as to its' meaning is still too much in flux, and it will be our children and grandchildren who understand it.

Lol, it's not like the date has been set in stone either. It can still get pushed back, like Kelly's, anything's possible. I hope not, though, because I'm really excited to hear new music as soon as possible!
