I just got here this morning, so I don't know if this was posted already or not, but THIS is why "Sound of Silence" was nominated in our Best Song poll. I just watched it and really wanted to share... Paul Simon performs 'The Sounds of Silence' at Ground Zero for the 9/11 Anniversary My family lost a wonderful young man after 9/11 when his army unit was deployed to Iraq! We miss you Mark!!!  Sorry this video can't be viewed. Saw it live and it was beautiful. I'm sure it will crop up somewhere >:( |

I think the peacock feathers clipped onto the GNT hat; they're awfully close.  good catch Susie. May be the whole feather situation is a one piece arrangement and can be clipped on and off... re Neil: I had a chance to talk to him only once. He came across as a very opened, well mannered, with a great smile and no sarcasm what so ever. He was looking for a job at the time and we talked about that - may be the topic was sort of somber.... I love the way he twitter-argues without any give - my DS is the same in RL, I feel that he gets me into this logical head-hold and never lets go, until I concede...may be that's why I can relate to Neil... obviously - the lack of RL experience shows, but that will inevitably come.... I also wonder how much of Neil's "negative" persona came from a sibling's way trying to differentiate himself from the older one. And as we know in this case - the older one was all positive and shiny and showy and singing/screaming... any child psychologists here? |

Last night marked the end of the Idol Summer Tour for Season 10. Someone at MJs posted the You Tube link to what she thought was the best last Idol tour night, ever. Being the Idol Loon that I am, I'd have to agree! Here's my contribution to all the BFTP posts. Be sure to watch all the way to the end. It was obviosuly taken by an Adam fan as he is the focus for the whole thing. Aww, that was really fun. What an awesome group they were. And yeah, photographer was on Adam the entire time. LOL, that Silly String stuck to his face. Did it get tangled on the rhinestones? |

Another 9/11 tribute at U2's last night in NY 10/27/2001, FDNY and NYPD brought up on stage last 15 minutes of the show.
ETA: Bono looks like a little munchkin (or leprechaun) leading all these big Firefighters and Cops around the Heart.

thx... I could not figure out why would he argue medical issues but I can see Neil reacting to a right wing lunacy on any topic...he is really into that stuff  Moria - your clarification re pulse is reassuring. Sounds like a page formatting change, not a substance change. Neil says very specifically, he is there to irritate people. He has a definte view point and will argue it to the end. Got respect him. Yeah...I really don't. As a mother who has dealt with issues over vaccinations for the past 18 years, I can't respect some young kid's insistent and inflexible views on an issue they "think they know about". I struggled with the decision of whether to vaccinate or not just this past summer. Due to issues, that I will not get into on a public forum, I made the very difficult decision to not vaccinate my daughter with the meningococcal vaccine before she entered her freshman year in college. It is not a decision that was taken lightly. I spent many hours in research and spoke to many health care professionals and other parents before I reached my decision. Until Neil is AT LEAST A PARENT, he should, at the very least, try to understand the difficult position some parents are thrust into. I don't care for Neil- his attitude, personality or his negativity. Kelly's new song "Mr. Know It ALL" keeps running through my head when I think of him.  Neil couldn't be any more different than Adam, and that is a very, very good thing! Adam's personality and general outlook on life is just another thing that draws people to him. If Adam's personality was like Neil's, I can safely say there is no way I would be on a fanboard devoted to him! |
