Very interesting. Ambitious. Well recreated without being karaoke. They kept close to the original without imitation. The lead singer's voice is.... well, it is raw and untrained, but he is on pitch and confident. I can see why Brian and Roger like this rendition. As musicians they would respect how the band made it their own while honoring the original. Of course, it goes without saying that I prefer QAL's version. I don’t know, if Brendon Urie‘s voice is „raw and untrained“ (and I don’t really care). The thing is, that some fans think, he‘s better than Adam. There have been some comparisons on the net for years. I think, that’s a reason, why some Adam-Fans are uncomfortable with Urie singing that tribute for Queen. Here is one example of a comparison from YT: youtu.be/v1MivyMbKwE

T-Mobile @tmobile Ready Freddie? Retweet for your chance to win the Queen of all trips. The winner will get to see the London red carpet screening of @borhapmovie from #TMobileTuesdays. #contest This was excellent imo! Vocally, musically and visually alike.

Have them try to sing almost 2 hours of difficult Queen songs in the original key, while moving around, and doing that for as many as 4 shows in a row.

If Queen was happy with Urie,I'm happy.. Adam has a great voice so what if some folks prefer other singers. There is room for all.. IMHO not a competition..

Here is one example of a comparison from YT: youtu.be/v1MivyMbKwENot gonna debate who's "better." People like what they like; prefer who they prefer. I could give you things I heard in Urie's voice on BR that made me think he was "raw and untrained" but, as you said, you don't care. I listened to the YT but my question is, again, why is absolute range used as a criterion for how good a voice is? Maybe that is a requirement for pop or rock, I don't know. In traditional, or classic voice, range is not generally included in discussions about voice quality. That's my background. So, my perspective and opinion. YMMV

Frankly, I am tired of hearing all the complaints from fans of other singers who have only sung one or two Queen songs at a time and that somehow makes them better than Adam. If Queen was happy with Urie,I'm happy.. Adam has a great voice so what if some folks prefer other singers. There is room for all.. IMHO not a competition.. Oh, I‘m completely with you. But some fans always seem to worry, that someone might be better than Adam. Although music isn’t a competition- not for me at least- and Brian and Roger are completely happy with Adam. I just wanted to explain, that Urie isn’t an unwritten piece of paper.

My point is more comparing apples to apples. Like people saying George Michael would be the only person who could have fronted Queen based on one song, sung in a lower key, with a choir. Never heard George sing a hard rock song but somehow he would have been way better than Adam as front man. Anyway, this is MY opinion. You don't have to agree with it.
ETA: Let me change "that somehow makes them better than Adam" to "that somehow makes them better suited to be the Queen front man than Adam". IMO, one song doesn't cut it.

If my impression was wrong, then I‘m sorry, that I posted this video. My intention was not to criticize your opinion. I don’t care for range and only care for what I like in a singer and his voice. And I don’t think, that this video proves anything, but that all 3 of them can sing.

And I didn't know specifically that some fans compared Adam and Urie for years. Comparing the virtues of your favorite singer/musician/sports star/movie star/author/restaurant etc etc is a favorite pastime of fans and always has been. Here's hoping we get something new and exciting from Adam soon so we have something more significant to discuss.
