Please remember that everyone has a right to their own opinion as long as they are respectful of others opinions (which are as valid as yours).

Just a quick question...is Madonna coming out with an album in early 2012 or did she say she was going to start on it in 2012?
Do we know of any other artists who have early 2012 as their album release date?

I agree with much of what you said rihannsu but you're citing megastars.....they've already established their success. What - we're going to dismiss U2 if we don't like their new album? Did we forget about Guns n Roses while we waited for Axl to get his shit together? Adam's sophomore album is crucial to his longevity.... he hasn't quite earned it yet. I promise I won't angst as much over his 5th ;D Here's why I don't angst U2's first album that took 4 years to come out was considered a flop and they still took 4 years for the next one and then launched a promo campaign that was designed as if they were a brand new artist that no one knew anything about. Even if they write you off and forget about you they can be won back with a GREAT record. So given Adam's PR skills and love from the media are pretty much on a par with Bono's I'm confident that no matter how long he takes to make this album he will be fine as long as it's great. So to me getting it right is more important than getting it soon. He has the heart of the media and they have already labeled him a superstar. If he sacrifices creativity for a quick release and the critics pan it all the Black Friday sales in the world won't help him. I would much rather he be an artist first and foremost until HE is satisfied with his work. He has already proved that he can keep the attention of the media AND his fans so I trust him. He nitpicked the shit out of AL and GlamNation and the fans and reviewers loved them so I think that gives him some clout with RCA to nitpick a bit on his album. Also the fact that he is a bankable touring act gives him a lot more leeway as well. U2 became superstars largely on the basis of their live performances, their best period of radio success was Joshua Tree era and "One" which now regularly hits the best songs of all time lists only made it to #10 on top 40 radio, and that was when rock was big on radio so it was basically about the level of WWFM radio wise. That being said I totally sympathize with the pangs of delayed gratification because yeah, I WANT IT NOW. But hey, that's life and I rarely get what I want. ;D

Love your posts, mys*&@^#r, Aloha and RabbitRabbit and yes, I totally get the philosophy of Epictetus in that we can only control our own reactions to something. But part of that "controlling" sometimes is processing as you move towards acceptance.
I don't think I recall anyone posting that they called or wrote a letter to RCA or DMG demanding that they change course with his career. No, we heard the dates and yes, they were not what we were hoping or expecting, but we immediately tried to accept the change in course because that is the reality. In a day or two, it will just be accepted. Will it never be angsted about again? LMAO. Doubt it.
And though we are processing, does it mean we aren't disappointed? Frustrated? Feel like we've almost reached the finish line just to have it moved back 20 miles? No. Many of us felt all those things and we discussed them. We shared with friends who have similar anxieties and we talked it out and accepted this turn of events. Ergo, we are changing our interpretation of the situation.
In a few days it will just BE.
Because you choose to change your thinking, doesn't mean it's easy, quick and painless. People spend years of conscious effort trying to reprogram their reactions to things and it's a continuous quest. And voicing your frustration doesn't mean you expect to change anything, but sometimes it makes you feel a little bit better and helps with the process. I don't like paying my bills every month but I accept it as a reality. I might not relish it with the enthusiasm of a Burning Man dance party, but it gets done.

I'm over the album and/or single hoopla. I kept asking myself why I was upset and it is simply due to my impatience. I also realized that more important to me would be if Adam and Sauli fell apart, or if anything happened to Adam and he couldn't follow his dream. Those are two things I couldn't get over in a day. That is the kind of stuff that would really throw me for a loop. A 2012 album is nothing. It's just a little bump in the road. Adam is having the time of his life, and I am so grateful he is happier than I have ever known him to be. I am content. I can wait for his music.

I am accually very content right now with the new release coming in 2012. I have so much Adam stuff on my computer to ease the wait. He has given us so much to enjoy in the short time we've known about him. Remember it's only been 2 1/2 years and look what we have so far. Before AI, during AI, the tour, FYE, tv shows, BTM, ETHS, Charities. We are Lucky! I know I need a few months to save my pennies because I'll be throwing my last dime his way. I want to see him live more than once this time. Now if only my PEACE PENDANT would arrive!....and then whatevers next I'll be ready!!!!!!!! ;D

Never have I wanted so much for someone other than my own family before. I want all his dreams to come true!

Really! I'm feeling very "zen" about all of this. Look- Sauli feels very calm too! I'm personally disappointed, because I was ready for new music the day after GNT was over. But now, it looks like new music (even if its just the single) is right around the corner. Look! Sauli is excited too! I know that I know next to nothing about the music business, and even less about how any of that impacts Adam. I've tried to study it a bit but given what it takes for me to run my own professional life, I can't imagine what would happen if I tried to second guess Adam's. I've thought and thought, and I've got So, here's my thinking. I'm going to be happy. (And most days I really can make that work). I'm happy that we have sappy boyfriends. And the new music will get everyone excited again. WooHoo!!! Adam says this is his dream album. I want that for him, so if this is how he wants to get there, then I'm right there with him. And who knows, he may be working on how to get the flames to come out of his f**king head! See! Zen works for me. Smooches to you all!

The viewpoint seems to be that we'll be excited about the 2012 release and the fall single. Obviously they are not aware of the fans' expectations for summer single, fall album release. I've totally chilled out about the music timing because I have no control over it. Once I accepted that, everything else fell into place and I could breathe again.

Adam HAS given us so very, very much in just 2 1/2 years, just mind-boggling, and we are so fortunate to be fans of this amazing individual. I trust Adam's judgement completely, and strongly anticipate the exciting direction his new management will take him. Can't wait.
