Since we were talking yesterday about how lonely life can be for people in show biz, I thought this tweet would be appropriate today. I recognize Robin Williams and Avcii, but who are the other two? @brettjsimpson: This is what depression looks like everyone.. You may never know what someone is going through until it's too late.. Always be there to talk if you think someone may be struggling. Be kind & care about those around you, show them love. #MentalHealth #SuicideAwareness #Depression George Michael discussed in interviews his battle with depression and the lonely touring life. He mostly toured with the same band and backup singers. By his own account, his depression impacted his creativity and songwriting. There were long stretches between albums and tours. Yep. Depression and/or suicide are horrible and it is not easily solved by having friends and bands touring with you. And depression is not unique to people in the entertainment industry. My own family experienced a death from depression and suicide and they were not physically lonely nor in showbusiness. Well educated, accomplished and surrounded by love of family and friends but it was not enough. In Chester Bennington's case, the depression probably started with the extreme sexual abuse that he endured as a child then he tried to cover that pain with drug use. Amy and Aviccii were sad stories of different kinds of abuse and neglect. So there are so many different reasons, other than just being lonely, which cause people to lose control and sometimes their lives.

Depression is one of those insidious illnesses. My sister and I spent our early teens listening to my mom telling us how she was going to run away to get away from it all, or telling us that she was tempted to jump off the deck when she was unhappy with my Dad. It scared us, and we could never understand how she could think about doing that to us. We were too young really to understand about depression. This talk would be followed by glass after glass of wine after dinner.
Now that we're older, we realize that our Mom suffers from depression, but when we try to talk to her about it, she gets really angry and denies that she ever had a problem. She refuses to take any kind of anxiety meds, is totally paranoid about getting hooked on anything, so what can you do?
You never really know what's going on inside another person, unless they allow you in.

@xkinkykale: translation of what sauli’s ig story says Losing a parent is so hard and I feel for Sauli. I had no idea that his dad was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year. I have a feeling that there's no way for Adam to not be affected by the sad news.

It can cause tremors like Parkinson's, depression, hallucinations, confusion, and mood shifts in addition to memory loss. Yes, he killed himself, but it was in response to the overwhelming struggles of a dying brain.
