Lynne, loved your post. I'll never leave the playground - ever. MyS*&@^#r, I'm posting. You know what that means. I'm just home after meeting a tow truck driver in the hood and having my car towed. As hard as I think life is I don't want to lose it in the hood. As to the mood in this place over the last 24 hours, I wish you guys had my skills (or my bottle). When the angst starts to overcome, I zoom out. Put things in perspective. That huge mountain is just an anthill in the grand scheme of things. As I had to tell myself when my car wouldn't start in the hood. If Adam can overcome the AMA's, he c.a.n. d.o. a.n.y.t.h.i.n.g. And to Gramnana, I think is the username, my heart hurts for you. Fight the fight. It's all we can do. Yay burrito! *waves*

Uploaded by SwedishNonny on Sep 13, 2011 A guy singing Adam Lambert's Aftermath at the Swedish Idol audition.Lol, omg! I love it when people sing Adam's songs, good to know that he's popular, but YIKES! That was bad!!! But he did try and give a good effort. Oh did anyone notice that they were playing Broken Open at the end there? Why, oh why, do I do that to myself? I know better than to click on links of others singing Adam songs. I resisted all day. But, at 11:30 at night I guess my resistance was low. OUCH! Now I gotta listen to Aftermath acoustic, Idol, and remix just to cleanse my ears.

Well now I'm going to come across as a Debbie Downer again...lol! I'm a tad nervous after reading some of those tweets. I'm all about the wail - enjoy Adam's ballads - but it's the wail that sends me to the moon! Even Aftermath - for me, doesn't get great until he hits that wailing riff....also (omg I should just shut up now) I'm rarely a fan of the music he recommends, which is a little scary.... but I'm trusting him to release a SMASH single.... and I think he's savvy enough to know what going to work. My interpretation was that Amy (and Eber) like more rock. This album, I am assuming, will be Pop. IIHY, Fever, WWFM, FYE, Strut, and VooDoo are all very Pop and Adam does plenty of wailing. Don't worry! Yeah....and even if the album tracks are very "poppy" we know he'll wail the fuck out of them LIVE. That is why I adore him. ;D

[ My logical mind wants to know how Adam is assessing the market and how to maximize his advantage in it. If he is giving up the pre-Christmas sales advantage, does he see other benefits of a 2012 release? My gut tells me this is not his decision. Just not logical.....but not giving up support for him, and no longer angsting at what I have no control over. I so love this man! Joining the group hug..... My guess would be that the longer time for the single to climb the charts (we hope) will increase sales. Does anyone know for a fact that albums released at the end of November sell better overall than other albums? Long term? Especially without much lead time for a single? Longevity and radio play for the singles will determine its overall sales. If he can get 3-4 singles, with a lot of radio play out of this album, it should go over platinum easily. But it is really hard to predict because some of the artists that have really big single sales, have a hard time selling albums. It really is a crazy busness!

Adam will always wail in concert.
Thanks Holtz and burrito for your kind words.
Lifeguard... Adam brings out the girl in me, too, and that is a good thing since my oldest child turned 30 today, Lol!!!!!!!!!
ETA: So now I am eagerly awaiting 3 album releases all set to happen in "early" 2012...Adam's album, my son' s first album, and Sam Sparro's album, which may or may not include a song my son wrote with him. Hoping 2012 brings good things for all three of them! And hoping for a great Adam single in 2011!

I've never shared my feelings on sales before but I'm loose enough tonight to do it. When Adam had Black Friday two years ago, I worried it wouldn't produce high sales because of the AMA debacle and the fact he didn't have a single that was charting high. (The morning after the AMA's I drove to Wal-Mart and bought multiple copies after having already pre-ordered several copies because I knew the AMA fallout would hurt him.) He needed non-Idol fans to boost his sales and he hadn't tapped into that market as far as I could tell. He might've with a great AMA performance but that didn't work out. Sooo, this time around, I couldn't care less (had to edit that because I started to say "could care less", see I do read all posts) when he releases as long as he leads with a smash single that catches everyone's attention. It won't matter if it's April or February or even June as long as he starts with a smash single, IMO. Anyhoo, that's my opinion. Lead with a hit song and the sales will follow. Or so I ordain. Lordy, I'm ordaining with booze in my hand. The blasphemy.

Just a quick note following up on some posts earlier today. I mentioned I had been thinking about giving Adam's Pennyroyal Peace Pendant (for Trevor Project) to a group I work with (basically a quite young gay/straight alliance that has morphed into something w/more blurred lines - but the cost for gifting whole group wld be too much. MWP, Rabbitt and several other kind people proposed helping w/gifting - so kind and thoughtful! (In the finest Adam tradition!) However, it will not be needed in this case. I was driving to work and realized there was no reason not to at least bring it up to the group's 'overseers' incl the sponsors who control funds. (I hadn't been thinking outside of my Adam closet.) So I emailed a link to webpage and asked what they thought about this as the group's end of year gift (a lot of kids are moving on after this year so we'd already been discussing giving something to mark the occasion.) Anyway, I was surprised that the reaction was immediate w/almost unanimous approval - the one person who was worried was persuaded by references to Adam's charity work and his IGB vid (which I happened to link as well ). Interestingly, in this case the design helped to sell it - since peace signs are 'in' again w/the kidlings. And everyone thought the message on the back was spot on for our young ones. This isn't a big group - just breaks double digits - and I think there will be some eye-rolling but I also think they'll love it. (esp since it will irk some of their dads lol) Win win! Anyway, thanks for all the love and I am def. interested in any future gifting projects.

Just got to the end of the thread and so love when people are allowed accepted and encouraged to express their feelings and concerns (however in the moment and even admittedly all over the place) without being scolded or chastised or met with threats of flouncing. Again, people are just verbalizing their conflict and concerns in order to get it out of their own heads. I'm that way. I need to talk about any emotional upheaval, whether it's a work issue, a fight with a friend or SO, or a family conflict. Once I've talked it out, I get over it exponentially faster than had I kept everything inside.
My thoughts on Adam2:
• I don't for one second believe any kind of setback was on account of Adam "perfecting." I think he has had his vision and timeline clear from the beginning and he will deliver this product on the deadline set forth (October, at the latest, as he said quite emphatically). He also said he would not release the first single until the album is done.
• IMO, the album is done but for some finishing touches. He knows the track list (that was clear from Sia's tweets on Sundays and comments from Alisan, Eber, Tommy and Amy). I THINK they were still bandying about what tack to take on certain tracks (hence Amy's comments about producers), but there has been no indication from writers wondering if such-and-such made the album. I think they know.
• I think that RCA is a hot mess right now (thanks pjd for such insight into mergers and reorganizations). It's true. Common sense dictates that this stuff is not resolved in a week or two. Lulu's post further iterates that not just Adam, but all RCA artists are in a state of turmoil.
• No, this is not necessarily encouraging, but IMO, it indicates Adam is not being singled out. He's part of this corporate reorganization tempest and there is not a lot he can do about it at this point.
• I totally believe Adam could see this coming and that may have been the reason he decided to contract with DMG when he did. He was getting a stronger team behind him IF he was put in a position to take much of his own promotion into his own hands. He could not rely on 19 and RCA.
• I am glad Adam isn't releasing in November. RCA is not ready to do the kind of radio pushing that Adam will need in CHR. Kelly and Daughtry have their standard track records and Daughtry will be HAC, not CHR, so probably better for him to follow-up Kelly. I would be shocked if he has a great rollout though.
• For Adam's album (which I believe WILL be done on time), I think it's better that he launch a single (and hopefully RCA will be a little more stable in a month(ish) and they can push the crap out of it). Adam will promote it to the ends of the earth and it will set fire to the anticipation for the next single and the album.
• All things considered, I'd rather Adam release his album in an non-traditional marketing time and have it given the exposure it deserves than having it rushed to market without an adequate level of cohesive support. Once I came to terms with the fact that I would have to wait, I began to believe it IS for the best. I fully expect TV, radio, international and Jingle Balls in the coming months.
