Adam Lambert Says New Single Out Next Month, Album Next Year It's good news and bad for Adam Lambert fans. Rumors late last month put the release date for his new album sometime in early November, even though Adam never confirmed any of the speculation. Turns out there was good reason -- he tweeted Sunday, "album coming out early 2012!", effectively squashing the 2011 release rumors once and for all. That doesn't mean there won't be any new Adam music under your tree this Christmas. He also tweeted, "I'm 90% sure the first single will be out next month (ish)  ," adding "There is still lots of work to be done but I promise: you won't be disappointed!" That news lines up with what Adam told Entertainment Weekly in late August, when he said his new single would be out in "eight weeks" or so. Re that video....For me...that is as blatent product pushing as I have see in a long time...well...since the Macdonald cups in front of the judges for SYTYCD haha. But really....almost each time you see the laptops...what you see really is the logo. And they all have the same laptop!! Seriously...to me that is now compromising artistic lisence....DNW Adam doing that kind of stuff either...it smacks of sell out to me....if it were even pretending to be a utilitarian I would be ok but it isn't IMHO.
It would not suprise me if adam did not really want to be a part of that....as professionally done as it was. Lots of commercials are 'professionally' done. This does not jive with a 'burner' mentality...it seems...

You know Adam did do one product placement in the IIHY video, but it was only shown once, and not throughout the whole thing!  |

I must say that I feel somewhat sad for Adam that there are die hard fans who no longer feel able to be enthusiastic about supporting his single or tracking its progress now that the album itself will be later than was thought. I very much doubt that he or his record label had any thought in their heads of that being the case. However, I suspect that if he did know this he would just put his positive face on and keep going! Nothing has come easy to him yet, and I really doubt that he ever expects it to.

wow IDEk what to say. I'm not judging feelings etc... but wow. A slight change of plans in what was more fan speculation than anything else and long time supporters are so disillusioned they have lost enthusiasm for Adam? I'm just baffled by this. Sorry. I think I'm going to take a break till the new single comes out. I feel completely derailed by this POV more than any delay in the album TBQH.

I really get the feeling that everyone's sort of emotionally hungover today. I guess I'm at an "it is what it is" place. I decided some months ago to spend more of my time doing other things than hanging around here 24-7 because I hoped it would make the time go by faster. Then life threw me some curveballs and even my love of all things Adam didn't provide a distraction.
I know it's hard for me to wait for #2 because for me, Adam fandom=JOY. I am impatient to get back to that "happy place".

I came here hoping to see people excited about the new single and just find all this doom and gloom. I guess I am going to go find somewhere more positive to hang out. I'll have to go back and read, don't remember that word being used. I can understand diminished enthusiasm though, in the sense that, keeping up the enthusisam can be tiring. Essentially, saying early 2012 has more than doubled our wait time from now. From now until Nov., we had about 2 months before the album. Now we have probably 5- 6 months. Not expecting a January release, at least I hope not. So ya, I get it. I'm not going anywhere, but I can certainly get where these fans are coming from. I just hope the single is really Oct. That will be fun to track and we should get many personal appearances from that. |
