I want to shout this guy's comments to the rooftops of the world! I love it when someone gets it and says it loud and clear. Adam is a rare exception to the norm of singers.

Marc Martel can sing Queen‘s songs almost sounding like the original. BUT: It’s only the sound. Queen was so much more! The show, Freddie’s stage presence, his costumes, how he connected with the audiences. Put Marc on the huge Queen stage in an arena and he will be lost. And boring to watch. Plus: He can’t sing the whole catalogue. On „The Show must Go“ on for example he usually gets help from a bandmate, who sings the high notes. Brian and Roger know that. And they know, who is the best for their band. By the way: The personal connection between them is at least as important. I simply don’t see, Roger connecting with Marc. They are too different.
Martel seems to have fallen out with them. I don’t know, if that’s true. But since he built his own Queen tribute band and left Queen Extravaganza (AND released an EP of Queen covers last month), I‘ve the feeling, there is more and more animosity between them.

The fans are illogical. They want an impersonator for Freddie but not impersonators for Brian and Roger which completely undercuts their - Queen was only Freddie argument. If it's ok to have an impersonator for Freddie, then why not the whole band which is Queen Extravaganza. It's all part of the punish Brian and Roger and make them take a back seat to imitation Freddie. The stuff delusions are made of. Martel has said nice things about being included in the movie sounds, hopefully he's smart enough to not burn bridges.

Thankfully most Queen-fans I came across in real life and on QueenOnline are actually no big fans of Martel. Someone posted about his new EP - and almost nobody reacted. That shows me, that they aren’t interested in him. It’s like with everything: Some like it, some don’t. I think most of them are quite realistic and know, what Martel can do - and what not. He‘s no threat to Freddie’s and Queen‘s legacy. Not like Adam. (Who isn’t a threat either, but some DO believe or feel that.) Martel has come across as a nice chap, who knows his place and was happy being chosen for the Queen Extravaganza and to help with Freddie‘s vocals for the film. Just lately I‘m not so sure anymore, if the connection to Brian and Roger is still as positive as it has been.

No other "stand-in" with Queen even came close. But because he matches and even exceeds Freddie's vocals (but in his own way), he is resented by some Queen purists. Seems like a lot of that has blown over by now. Brian and Roger knew the perfect person when they saw him. Somehow, Adam matches Freddie perfectly without looking, acting, or sounding like him. Now THAT's talent.
