Some random thoughts on what has popped up on this thread: ~Nina Garcia is smart. She knows how to market her magazines. And Adam's fan base is a strong market. ~Adam's strength is his being gay. It has created in him depths of compassion that not many men will acquire in their lifetime. That strength, developed in him an unusual simplicity of character, an integrity of thought and deed, an intense human sympathy , which bestowed in him a great capacity for friendship. I do not know Adam Lambert personally, but what I have seen ,heard and read paints this picture of who he is. ahem...not to be shallow or anything...  but to all of those wonderful attributes, I must add his glorious sexy animal magnetism. I'm sure Nina felt it as well. (his magnetism I mean ;D)    And the fact that he is so comfortable being close to females. Some gay guys shy away from close contact with females but Adam just snuggles up and hugs so close. How can a girl not wonder what that would feel like. I think he causes much fantasizing just be being gorgeous hot sexy Adam.  |

I've asked myself so many times over the last 2 1/2 years how things would be different for us if Adam were straight. It's weird but I can't see it being as much fun only because of the multitude of females he would have been dating, none of whom we would have found good enough ( and correctly so, just name me ONE who is deserving.) Plus, how can seeing him courtside at a Lakers game compete with Fashion Week in NYC? And his friends, would they have included Sutan? Terrence? Ferras? No, they would have been boring, cargo pants wearing, beer drinking slugs. Did I miss anything? Bottom line is that Adam has given us so much fun, sparkle, and sexiness because he knows how to cause a commotion and we eat that stuff up ! Plus, trying to find him a boyfriend was fun. Before that, I didn't know Anderson Cooper and Rob Halford were gay. And don't even get me started on Mardi Gras in Sydney. He has broadened my horizons immeasurably. I do not believe that Adam would be the same person he is if he were not gay. Yes, he would still be handsome and nice, but not the same. And I think his song is true, that "scars make us who we are". His life would have been completely different. And perhaps, his struggles with his sexuality and acceptance made him focus strongly on his singing, something he might not have done so much without a need to find his place in the world. |

Umm! Allrightyyyy then \O/\O/\O/ ! Urmm......trying not to sound like a total weirdo but.....which way is it pointing? I can see two possibilities. ??? Please tell me I'm not the only one? :-/ I know Adam is a magical alien and all that but... ETA: The discussion of what if Adam wasn't gay is a little bit of a minefield of stereotypes. Plenty of gay men aren't kind, fabulous dressers, funny, insanely talented, or driven...the list goes on. And some straight men are. It's just one pieces of the puzzle that when all put together made fabulous entertainer and a cupcake of a human being. As Adam often says "I'm just Adam" OK, I should have made a separate post. I feel even weirder now. Jamie, IA with your 'what if Adam wasn't gay' comments above. It's just one part of what makes him who he is, and doesn't automatically give him other attributes. I can't even imagine him as a straight man, though. It just doesn't compute for me. As for the 'which way is it pointing' question, lol, I can't believe I'm going to attempt an answer to this, um, but I am. I believe the answer is 'up' (which is probably the logical answer anyway, lol) :-[  and the reason for my answer is this -- I'm pretty sure I remember Adam talking about...omg...how can I say this appropriately, and was he really talking about this in an interview??!! It was a while ago -- like way before the tour, and maybe pre-FYE promo. Anyway, I remember him talking about tucking his penis up behind the waistband of his underwear to make it look more impressive. It had to be a print interview or something on a gay website, didn't it?? I can't imagine it was on video. OMG, am I crazy?? Well, I mean, am I crazy in THIS instance? I swear I remember him discussing this. Maybe someone asked him about the 'GB' that everyone was talking about? (I always thought the GB term was so cringe-worthy, I can't believe it's become such an accepted part of Adam lore, haha.)
