Do we believe this Knapp guy? Didn't he use to be a douchebag? I dimly remember. Yes, I remember he dissed Adam a lot. Don't remember much of the details. Wasn't he a huge Kris Allen fan? I remember his many sarcastic comments early on but he came around to really appreciate Adam.

When I saw who was being honoured, I was a bit surprised that Adam would be performing. And my first thought was actually that Phillip Glass was just as likely to ask Adam Lambert, a supreme vocalist, to sing one of his songs, than Cher was - who, and somebody correct me if I'm wrong, has no other connection to Adam than the fact that Adam chose to rework one of her songs and sing a brief snippet of it on a television show 10 years ago... I mean, how do we even know it's about Cher? From what I understand of the Kennedy Center Honours, the honorees themselves often get to pick who is going to give a speech or sing in tribute, they invite their friends and colleagues. I remember watching Ellen Degeneres' honours for comedy: she had asked for people like Jane Lynch and Sean Hayes, her friends and fellow comedians, to be the ones performing. I recall that one because it was hilarious and moving, but of course, I don't know if it's always the case that the honorees choose who gets to perform. Seeing that Chad Michaels will be doing something in tribute to Cher makes me think that Cher herself invited Chad to do that - I know she loves Chad Michaels' work and he is considered as THE Cher impersonator. He'll probably be lypsinching to a medley of her songs, I expect. Of course, Cher could have asked for Adam too, but I really don't see the connection... Do they know each other in real life, as friends? Have they ever worked together? I mean, I'm sure Adam loves her, who doesn't, but still, what am I missing? Anyway, those are just my thoughts, carry on. Cher has been following Adam on social media (Twitter) since 2013. They also have at least two charities in common. I do not believe that Adam knows Cher but he does know Chaz Bono. So yes, they are personally connected through her son.
Someone else here probably knows much more about this than me.
I also recall that Adam has said he is a Cher fan.
I was given ticket to see Cher recently -- and was blown away by her show. I was never really a fan and I am now sorry for being so close minded about her. She truly deserves an Adam performance to honor her.
Oh, don't get me wrong, I love Cher, always have. And I guess it was obvious Adam loved her too, when he sang Believe... I just didn't know there was any personal connection between them or that Cher was a fan of Adam! That's cool. I guess he was then already on her radar as someone who could perform. Well, I am hoping for a performance, even if it's still unclear how he can make it back to DC. Also, how cool you were able to see Cher live in concert. She is an amazing diva, and has had so many amazing hits over the years.

First, those Honors Week Tribute concerts appear to have nothing to do with the show itself, non-televised, free to anyone. No reason to assume Adam would even consider doing one. Second - there are tributes, live, during the show - for example I'm posting below the Bruno Mars tribute to Sting in 2014. Live at the center as part of the show - and 1 of 4 performances just for Sting. It would be easy for Adam to be one of four for Cher (and he can work the timeline of England today, New York on Sunday), doubtful he'll close the show like Bruno did though. So do we think Adam will honor Cher and have the performance televised? If so, that is a big deal. Don't care if he is first, last or somewhere in the middle, as long as it is broadcast on tv and not just an honor off-screen.

So, WATC it will be. Did anybody here speculate on that? Wasn’t there a list? I think we all got it wrong.

We are the Champions?! Duh. That one was probably too obvious to even guess haha. Adam will kill it! About the possible Cher tribute ... I am baffled about my own post yesterday that I made prior to seeing Toby Knapp's tweet about Adam being in DC this weekend. We will see what's going to really happen, however I had mentioned yesterday in relation to Adam's Idol journey how helpful it was that Kara pushed him to really internalize and feel the songs (instead of doing musical theater). Adam took it too heart and smashed the next round during Hollywood week with "Believe" by Cher. At that point all the judges were on board with Adam If, and I say IF he happens to make a tribute to Cher with that song I am definitely going to melt into a "sizzling puddle".

After the hint about the Kennedy Center Honors possibility, I did some general reading. One thing I read was that the full program is edited for the later TV broadcast and so I guess there will be no way to know if Adam's performance (if there is one) will be televised in full or in part until the December 26 broadcast. Time will tell.

My guess is that Hamilton will close the show? I think that is the network's call.
Regarding any performance - we still only have one tweet from Toby Knapp, nothing else. And there is no mention of a performance.
However, Shosh was very specific about a second performance this year, and that it was in the US. There is no sign of anything else and it is almost December.
*** Am I the only one who is disappointed that Adam is performing WATC? Sounds like the close of the show song?

IF it happens it will be really interesting to see how he has evolved since 2009.
