BBC Strictly ✨ @bbcstrictly Yasss Queen! @adamlambert positively rocked the #Strictly Ballroom tonight 🤘🎸 Bloody brilliant as usual and he looked gorgeous!Yes it was great. And he looks wonderful and his hair is beautiful as always. Does not look over processed to me but it wouldn't be Adam without something negative I guess, lol.

WOW!!!!!!! That was an awesome performance from Adam! It was a great choice in song to show off his vocals. Plus the song is well known and immensely popular throughout the world. And I loved the dancers too! So glad Ashley and Pasha made it through to the finals. I once had a private Cha Cha lesson from Pasha. He is best friends since childhood with my former Latin ballroom instructor. Ooh lucky you! I like Pasha very much, seems a really nice guy and a little bit dorky too. Must have been a thrill to have that dance lesson. Plus he's a bit easy on the eye - but not as easy as Adam. I went to some of the live shows about 8 or 9 years ago, they were good fun but then I kind of lost interest when my favourite pros left the show.

Since it will probably get taken down from YouTube here is a direct download link and Vimeo. I think the YouTube version is clearer though.

Having rewatched the video a few times to concentrate on the dancers, I would say that their dance is really just an American Smooth Vietnamese Waltz, as opposed to an International Viennese Waltz in which you would stay strictly in closed hold. They have added a few lifts which would not be allowed in competition but are common in a show dance. Otherwise, I don't see any moves that would be out of character in an American Smooth Viennese Waltz competition. And the rhythm of WWRY is a Viennese Waltz!
I do see a few moves that have a Paso type flavor but I really don't see any Paso Doble per se in the dance. But I also see several moves that have a Samba influence and even some Rumba influence. Lots of ballroom dances take influences from other dances all the time. About half of the moves in American Foxtrot and Waltz are the same but set to a different rhythm. And just from the way the female dancer takes a few steps with turnout during the dance (not done in smooth/standard dances), I would guess that the dancers are Latin dance specialist.

So much for keeping it secret! I am very excited for the Kennedy Center Honors. His star is rising at a steady and sustainable pace. He is slowing becoming ingrained in the musical fabric in a way that will continue until he is 90! He deserves it!!! Very true. And what is so great about it is he is being considered and asked to participate in these big events without family connections and influences. His talent and name are making people think of him. Sure Cher is a fan but I'm sure she is a fan of many stars who would gladly perform in her honor. But she chose Adam. Queen chose Adam tho many others had performed their music on Idol and other places. LBT chose Adam and Leona with no connections. George Michael Tribute. Elvis. He is really stepping up and doing a wonderful job every time. And it all adds up to greater exposure for him.
