AMW!!!!!!!!!! Get it, girl!!!!!!!!!! Hee hee...every day, baby, every day! AMW!!!!!! *waves madly* hi hi hi hi hiiiiiiii! loved your post, girl! Still gettin'it! Most everything's been said, and well, but three things: to those who've complained about feeling distant from Adam lately--um, yeah. You are. So am I. We all are. Hate to say it, but we don't know him at all (even though he lahhhves me and laughs at ALL my jokes in my fantasy), and while we may have a pretty good guess at what kind of person he is (I feel confident he's lovely), it's just a guess. We get to see a tiny part of him that he presents as his public persona, and I for one am a bit relieved that he's managing more and more to maintain some distance for the rest of it. Two, speaking of distance, some perspective: we--all of us here--are incredibly narrowly focused in on Adam, his career, his public choices, his persona. I have never paid close to this much attention to anyone ever (and before the recent explosion of the internwebs to do so would have been entirely impossible). If we take the teeniest step backwards, it's suddenly obvious that our hanging on his every word is a little absurd--won't stop me from doing it--but its absurd. The nuances of the Tommy action? The sixteen different charity:water related comments he made on 15 different shows? The fugly shirts? Even the twitter "rants" (which, frankly, if you see as a rant then you have never been well and truly ranted at)--we shouldn't, in a normal, sanely-invested world, know about all those. We shouldn't be checking our watches to see how recently the charity goal was hit. We shouldn't be aware that Adam said q, r, and s to x, y, and z, any more than we should be able to pinpoint that, omg, he's wearing a pair of socks he's never worn before. (And I don't mean should in a moral sense, just in a sense of what can reasonably be expected). Seen from the far more reasonable perspective of the casual fan, none of this bears any weight. He just did something lovely by inspiring a great deal of money to be raised for a great charity, he looked gorgeous on the red carpet, his voice is still great, his smile is still stunning, he still pushes some sexual buttons. That is all. I don't want Adam to play out his career completely in the interest of a few thousand ridic-overinvested fans (and I count myself amongst them)--that would drive him mad, not satisfy us (because we are at once always loyal but never satisfied), and not be the best thing for his career. And speaking of that career, a quick third point: Adam is "capitalizing off our generosity?" Well, I should hope so, that's the point, isn't it? I mean, he's selling us something (something wonderful, if you don't count the shi(r)ts), and boy are we buying. Hope we keep buying. Boy needs his dimmers. (And while I'm on the topic, i'm frickin' thrilled Adam got rich off those meet and greets--I'm sure they were an amazing experience for those who purchased them, and it sounds like Adam was a doll during them, but from his perspective, repeated ad absurdum, they must have felt pretty weird and exhausting after a while. I'm sure glad he was paid for them.) Totally different topic, had to point out Finnish headline: "BB Saulin isa Adamista"---aren't we all, honey, aren't we all. (And yes, of course my Finnish is fluent.) (also had to add, rhiannsu (sp?) I totally agree with what you said about the Tommy stuff--can't imagine it'll continue into the next concert cause Adam likes to keep it fresh, but I hope he does something else that pushes some bounadries if he wants to, and doesn't feel inhibited solely because he doesn't want to "confuse" people. Confusion can be wonderful and freeing (just see Kara "I dunno I kinda like it" DiaGuardi).

pjd - hi girl!! I LOVE my Adam calendar! I don't even know what we paid; did not care. It's gorgeous and the blank space for the monthly mantra is genius. you know, after I saw the pictures I was a little sad I didn't suck it up and pay the $40 for the calendar. The pictures are gorgeous and as someone pointed out they are high quality photos and a picture at the concert would have been $10... I would love to find a copy but I don't hold out much hope at this point so all I can do is slap myself for being cheap The calendar is gorgeous (sorry!). I have it in work and everyone comments. Only a very few look at me weird : )! I don't really give a fuck and it makes me happy to see it everyday!

On page 7 now, guys, but it looks like things are starting to skirt forum guidelines. Be back in a few once I finish reading.

Here is the T shirt for charity. $9 seems too little to me. Does anyone have the Adam tweets being discussed?? I am guessing that they take into account how much the material costs/how much it takes to pay whoever is making the shirts when they determine how much to donate to charity. In a perfect world 100% would be donated, but sometimes that's just not feasible. I'm no expert but to me 9 dollars is pretty good (beter than nothing) when I see some for charity products only donating a few cents on the dollar or whatnot. *shrugs* Like I said, better than nothing and better than some stars who don't do this stuff anyways. I do agree they are ugly though. God, let someone with some design experience or originality or whatever take over the fan merch stuff. I am sure bc he is s busy it's the last thing on his mind, but since merch can be a big $$ maker it would be advantageous for him to get some unique and quality products that people would actually want to pay those high fees for--and not just the fans who will buy anything. I am jumping over several pages, so may be this was discussed, but I want to say that the way it is worded: 'For every shirt purchased ALF will donate ANOTHER $9..." - tells me that the $9 is IN ADDITION to the $29, not PART of $29... Did anyone else read it this way?

She is actually 14 and very appreciative of all her friends efforts. I think you just made my point - thank you. Adam didn't mention it at all until Eber's SO ,Amy, made a post on twitter (I thought that was something that should have been done privately)

It is so nice to see you here today One of my many great memories of FS is how over the moon happy you were after the concert - it was joyous just being around you. That was just an amazing night for me. Meeting wonderful women who love Adam like I do, getting handed a VIP pass that put me in the 7th row and then getting a shout out from the MAN after Fever!! OMG, I was in heaven. I still get happy remembering that night. Oh, and Adam essentially making love to the entire room during WLL. I will NEVER forget that. Ever.

I love my calendar and didn't even mind the very, very long wait because it was signed I even recently took the plastic off of it but asked family and friends to wash their hands before touching it. Ok, just for the reaction (heehee). Oh yes, and don't fall over but I don't mind the tshirt. I probably won't buy it because I have not worn the other one that I have, but it is the most understated of the bunch and that is what I am looking for. So for the record if anyone is lurking that has any pull in the tshirt department - I am looking for a long sleeve black fitted V neck tshirt with an small eye of horus on the back of the neck or bottom of sleeve. I would pay big bucks for something plain and understated.

I have a picture of Adam that I took at one of the AI concerts pinned to my cork board in my office and everyone comments on how gorgeous it is so I doubt anyone would've thought twice about a calendar.

I get compliments every time I wear it. I don't know if Adam does understated.....
