YOUR ATTENTION PLEASE:
One of the very few Adamtopia guidelines is that posters don't criticize other posters. Now, this particular circumstance is interesting as an initial member asked the membership at large about her feelings about fandom in general.
Every fan of Adam has their own perception of what it means to be a fan. How much you choose to support "fandom activities" is completely up to you. If your fandom activities are not giving you pleasure, by all means take a break. Hopefully its just a temporary one. But it has to be what's right for you.
While I think the original thought process was valid and interesting, at this point, the topic has been sufficiently rehashed and responses are more critical than conversational.
THEREFORE, PLEASE STOP THIS TOPIC.
I will come back every half hour or so and delete any further commentary I see from this point on, or until Q3 tells me to stop.

Q3 comment -- ITA -- the conversation has gotten repetitive and has really gone well beyond the guideline.
On the cost of the T-Shirt -- it was probably someone trying to be way to clever -- 29.29.29 shirt for $29 and $9 to charity: water. Price point was clearly based on 29th birthday -- the $9 is coming out of the price -- so they are selling a limited edition men's preshrunk cotton tee for $20 + $2 handling + shipping cost. Assuming that it is the same quality as the other shirts, ALF is certainly covering production and overhead costs but with those numbers they are not making much or any profit. Regarding the design -- which I think is a miss -- I think they were trying to make a very different limited edition Adam item. Too bad it doesn't look like anything Adam would wear.
