There is really no easy way to compare because many Adam forums are part of bigger sites. That said..... I think Twitter has the largest number of Adam fans. AdamOfficial.com has the most members and the most posts. Many Adam fans regularly go to 3+ sites + Twitter. IMO (and I am not objective) ATop has some of the most knowledgeable Adam fans and we often have the news here first of any site EXCEPT Twitter. Many new ATop visitors are from Europe and Asia -- WAVES to visitors who have not de-clocked!! I don't know how people can stand to go to AO.  Maybe it attracts many of the international fans. Happy to hear about the new visitors from different places around the world! there have been a few threads on AO recently, especially the last day or two from regulars wanting some changes (faster posting of news--this has dried up completely, less fear of banning/sidelining alternate opinions, visual and organization overhaul of site.) I keep hoping for someone in Adam's team to have real foresight into the opportunities posed by online fandom and social media, and for an eventual overhaul that will not only be passable, but a really carefully crafted part of Adam's promo. As a design person I think sometimes people don't realize how much simple design can create the environment and attract and repeal certain kinds of/ages of users, regardless of anything else. For example certain users are attracted to sites with a lot of blingee, others actively avoid them and click out. I think a lot of fans have at least checked out AO, but there are many reasons to choose to fan elsewhere and depending on people's online sophistication they can find a community that is a better fit pretty easily. I'm not really expecting anything to happen until the DMG/RCA changes are really settled and the album shoot and era 2 visual direction is decided, but if there isn't a bit of at least a cosmetic AO overhaul at that point, I will probably by tempted to comment (and likely get banned). |

Good discussion on this the other day. Sorry you missed it. My opinion is "yes" for several reasons. 1) RCA is the X Factor record label. Adam is an RCA artist  2) Simon wanted Adam to win. Made it quite obvious he was not happy with America's choice. Adam's success will prove Simon is right! 3) Idol and X-Factor are both on FOX. Technically, they really are not in competition with each other. 4) As you already mentioned, Adam really has nothing to do with Fuller anymore. 5) Adam's single will become so huge, so quickly, Simon will have to have Adam on! ;D ITA with all of this. Also: 6) Timing is perfect. Adam will have a single to promote at exactly the same time X-Factor is ramping up and will be having guest performers. 7) Adam is one of three extremely viable alumni from U.S. competition shows that prove the shows are still relevant. 8) There is no proof whatsoever that Simon C. has any animosity towards Adam. It only makes him look better to embrace him.   |

I think it never ends well when we get into discussing how and when and what to post, which is why it's one of the few rules we have. I take full responsibility for my role in getting us OT today. There's a place here for everyone who loves Adam, no matter how much or how little they want to say "out loud." And by all means, PM a mod if you have any concerns about someone's post. Shoot, I've gotta learn to not post when I'm imbibing. I deleted my post but obviously not quick enough! I totally understand SusieFierce's point and I did not take offense at what she said. I DO feel bad about not participating more often but that wasn't her point. I just used her post as a springboard to convince the world (myself mostly) why it was okay to be a lurker. (Hard to make sense when I'm tipsy.) I don't post often because I choose not to. I DO NOT SEE #REAL-UGLY-NESS here. If I did, I wouldn't be here. Sorry, SusieFierce, you made a valid point, and the fact that I felt guilty for not posting more and commented has made people miss your point. My bad and I'm sorry. And since I'm stumbling all over everything tonight, here's one more. Q3, it's throes not throws. I don't know where Susie is right now, maybe on twitter or watching the Emmys, but her post that somehow is being quoted here is being quoted in completely the wrong way!! Her quote has nothing to do with you, Burrito, nothing. She made that post hours before you even posted. She was referring to peeps (only a few) who will pop in and say something really negative, usually one or 2 posts, and then leave. It's the only time these peeps show up. IMO, it borders on troll behavior. That is what Susie was referring to and it wasn't you, Burrito! Maybe I said too much but I can't see Susie's quote being assigned to the wrong thing and she obviously is not here right now to explain. Dead thread, you moved to a different subject and all but I have to say something also. After spending 2 years on the same board I think I "know" SusieFierce and I totally agree with mys*&@^#r. Of course I'm not SusieFierce and probably my place is not to talk about, just had to say it. |
