I've just read a few posts about feeling welcome here and have to say there have been times when I feel this is the wrong place for me because so many of the regular posters have met, been to concerts together or have had listening parties and so most of the conversation turns to talk of your shared experience. Most of my posts are ignored. I except that because I love to talk about Adam and have learned so much about him and the music business here. I do not have the $$$ to travel far to concerts or get togethers but I would in a minute if I did. I to have been shot down with a comment or two that someone didn't agree with then stepped back and just lurked for a while. No longer will I do that. I've learned we are all his fans and equally invested in him. So bring it on and I will respond. I do love it here and one day hope to meet some of you!!! I used to take it personally both here and at PF, when I would think I said something profound (eye of the beholder) and it was totally ignored, but it is what it is. I delete as many posts as I allow to remain. There are some people who have bonded more and anything they post, personal or about Adam, results in a flurry of responding tweets, but so what. I have not met anyone from the board, yet have become fond, if that’s the right word, of many of them. Others seldom have an opinion I share but they might think the same of mine. Don’t let your self worth be tied into what anyone does, doesn’t do, or says whether here or in real life. Stay aboard, take from ATOP what you want, and remember it is about enjoying Adam and information about him. Anything else you gain from it, like new friends or random information, is a bonus. |

Thank you thank you everybody for welcoming me. You are such wonderful people. I haven't figured out yet how to answer to specific posts. I can use only the "Quick reply". On the bottom border, of the last post on each page, you should see the word "REPLY" This is the main reply box. Also, on the upper right corner of each post, you will see the word "Quote." If you click on that you will be able to quote other's posts. Just make sure that your reply goes after the [quote/] and it should show up fine! Oh thanks. It was really simple. Stupid me. :  |

I am really hoping to meet more other fans the next time Adam tours too. There are a lot of people on ALFC I want to meet. I've only been on this board about a month but already I'm starting to get a feel for some personalities and hope there will be more chances to meet up. So far, the only other Adam fans I've met in person were at a birthday party in Dallas, which was fun. Question about the Pennyroyal thing/Trevor project. Apologies in advance if this has been asked and answered before. Is there a way to contribute to the Trevor Project, in such a way that it will count towards Adam's fundraising goal, even if you don't want to buy the peace pendant? Or is buying the pendant the only way to help? Good question. I am pretty sure there is a Trevor Project page for Adam Lambert. I just contributed for their birthday drive and went through an Adam Lambert Fans page. Rabbitrabbit might have that info. I'll see if I can go find her on Twitter right now. I think the fundraising goal that Pennyroyal set (and I'm pretty sure they got the amount/idea from a fan at AO) can only be added to by buying a pennyroyal product. until Oct. 1st you can add toward the Trevor Project total on their site by either buying a peace pendant or ANYTHING else on the pennyroyal site that isn't already donating part of the proceeds to another charity. www.pennyroyalstudio.com/The Trevor Project birthday fundraising drive which (probably) ends today is separate, and is inspired fans helping with a drive set up by the Trevor Project, not Adam. Or find something in my favorites & think WTF is that!! He doesn't have the luxury of deleting without it being an international (hee) incident! Far more trouble to delete than walk awT! |

I've been around since the MJ days and sometimes still feel a little outsider(ish) every once in a while. At other times I feel so connected to the people here that I can hardly believe that we have never met. I just try to go with the flow and take comfort in Q3's promise that ATOP will always be here. Thanks to those who post a lot and a little--ATOP rules!!!
