eri9, fantastic job on the video you made for the NZ Glitter Tribe's entry in the billboard contest! Ready to vote! I've just read a few posts about feeling welcome here and have to say there have been times when I feel this is the wrong place for me because so many of the regular posters have met, been to concerts together or have had listening parties and so most of the conversation turns to talk of your shared experience. Most of my posts are ignored. I except that because I love to talk about Adam and have learned so much about him and the music business here. I do not have the $$$ to travel far to concerts or get togethers but I would in a minute if I did. I to have been shot down with a comment or two that someone didn't agree with then stepped back and just lurked for a while. No longer will I do that. I've learned we are all his fans and equally invested in him. So bring it on and I will respond. I do love it here and one day hope to meet some of you!!! Most of us really don't get responses on our posts too often, but just know that even when I am not responding to posts, they are never ignored. There are so many great posts, and usually when I read, I am nodding my head or smiling or reading someone else's response that already says what I would have said in a response, and far better at that, so I just kind of read on. When I post, I just imagine others doing the same thing, LOL, whether they are or not. In my mind, I see you all nodding.  Just so's you know, you are not imagining it. I have always loved your posts, lynne, and am almost always nodding along. Your students are very lucky! I appreciate so many of the comments and the humor expressed by posters here, and often arrive too late to give a high five, or I let the moment pass. But y'all rock. I used to take it personally both here and at PF, when I would think I said something profound (eye of the beholder) and it was totally ignored, but it is what it is. I delete as many posts as I allow to remain. There are some people who have bonded more and anything they post, personal or about Adam, results in a flurry of responding tweets, but so what. I have not met anyone from the board, yet have become fond, if that’s the right word, of many of them. Others seldom have an opinion I share but they might think the same of mine. Don’t let your self worth be tied into what anyone does, doesn’t do, or says whether here or in real life. Stay aboard, take from ATOP what you want, and remember it is about enjoying Adam and information about him. Anything else you gain from it, like new friends or random information, is a bonus. That's a great philosophy, aspen. It's a hard lesson I try to remind myself of daily in life, to take from a situation what's valuable and leave the rest, and to not be attached to the outcome of anything. Message boards are good training grounds for that. It can feel like I'm casting my thoughts to the wind. Who knows where, or if, they land. And that's okay. I don't tweet and I only have a couple of real life friends who like Adam, but they don't stan him, and don't comprehend my interest, so I've gotta let my feelings out somehow. Speaking of which . . . Here is some info on him! He writes for Usher! Holy cow! Adam is going FUNKY with Rico, Super Pop with Bonnie, and straight to #1 with Benny Blanco!!! OMG! OMG!!!!!!!! I need these singles now. And does this now make the last piece to the puzzle of 3 singles?! division1.com/rico-love  Excuse me for quoting myself but I am a little bit NUTSO right now!!!!!!!!!

I feel like a broken record or a needle stuck in one groove saying how excited I am. But I am! Yes, again, to the soul and funk. I'm still hoping Adam will release four singles this time (would be a nice 18-month run for the album), but three is a great start and I'm sure when they are hits he'll be able to release a fourth. I love that he's so carefully overseeing all the music on the album himself. I wonder if Adam will get producer credit on the new CD. |
