Exactly. I'd say 80% of posts don't get some form of acknowledgement and that's fine. If every single one did, the entire board would be reactions to everyone else's posts. Many times the ones that are so sound don't get a response because you've said it all. And if one person has agree, then they've said it enough for everyone. Let me be very clear, I was not speaking to lurkers in general last night AT ALL. I love when people contribute in any way shape or form you feel comfortable with, except when it seems to be exclusively negative. This is referring to one or two people, as mys*&@^#r said last night. I was on a few boards before I ever started posting. Since TWOP was one linear thread, I guess I started too far back and could never catch up. By the time I got to the end, everything had been said. It's not always easy and everyone has to find their own comfort level, but it's also not always easy to try to keep the conversation and board moving during some slow and/or emotional times. And when one or two people consistently drop in with scolding or negative posts, it does get frustrating. FLAIL is always appreciated though. No matter what.

Meeting other PF/AToppers is really one of the best things about being part of this fandom.
Maybe on the next tour we can choose some select concerts as "unofficial meetup" concerts. I know I was sad that I didn't go to Vegas because so many were going but I had already booked my trip to CA. Hopefully we will get all the concert dates at one time and not in bits and pieces like we did for GNT

I saw your discussion about SuBo yesterday IMO I may be waaaaaay off here but I think it's another way for Simon to get people talking about SuBo.How else is he gonna make people talk about her? Simon loves controversy. It's all about money. Not laughing about it. Maybe I'm totally wrong but seoulmatewhen you talked about what questions the reporters are gonna ask Adam when era 2 starts (and since ALL reporters looooove controversy) I bet my money on what is the question that EVERYONE is gonna ask him. And not only US reporters but reporters from all over the world. Mad World is a significant moment in Adam's career internationally. I think it will make Adam explode inside. JMHO. I dunno, I think fans feel a much larger sense of "ownership" of the song than Adam. For example, I wouldn't expect to hear him sing it at all for this next tour. I suspect to him it's more of a cover he's aware that the fans love (or well, did till many of us got a little tired of it) than something he would feel mad about. I think it's much bigger to us in fandom than out in the real world, it's been a long time since S8 and I'd honestly be surprised if anyone other than the Idol-centric media asked him anything about SuBo singing it. I agree. Unlike us, I don’t think Adam will take this as a competition, even if others start the comparisons. He is on to NEXT, and what SuBo does, I feel, is of little or no interest to him. If he stayed patient after hundreds of gay,AMA,MAC questions, this will not even tweak his radar. Not only that, I think with all the confidence he has gained over the last 2 years, he will be even better at shutting down unwanted subjects with a roll of the eye or a smiling, “you’re kidding, right” comment. I swear, we actually could have world peace if everyone thought and acted like Adam does.

I don´t post often, not because I was slapped on the wrist once, but because of the time difference. You people post along while I´m sleeping and in the morning before work I check ATOP. I don´t have time to comment and if it´s a buzy Adam day I know it will be loads of posts when I get home. Then I have to read everything and if I want to comment on something exciting on page 5, that post ends up on page 21 and you have changed subject 4 times already and you have said what I said a hundred times funnier and more well written (and we should not repeat what others have said?) So excuse me for being a lurker. I like it here. I love Adam and the rain in Texas. Oh, if you insist on recaps of swedish Idol I can .......No? Oh, well I didn´t think so.

CA has a very healthy sized contingent of Adam stans. There is a small group of us that do non-Adam things now too. As a matter of fact, I would say, these ladies have become the main group I "hang out" with. It seems we are doing something together about once a month and when it goes longer, we just have to make plans for a get together (like dinner next week!) Of course, on the down side of being in the LA area, will Adam EVER to a M&G here??!!!!!!!!!! ???

Awww, your avatar fits with your post. Hoopla1 thanks for directing me to this new thread. I'm a left-handed blonde so I need direction. Hmmm, wonder if Sauli's left-handed? Okay, I'm dun, dun, dun, dun. Oh wait, good morning to the international fans just coming on-line. It's 1 a.m. in my neck of the woods so I'm going to bed. Gonna have sweet dreams about Adam. Hey, hey Ms. Taco Bell. :D :D :D Watch your words because I resemble that remark--blond and lefty. Maybe the directions are needed because of your, er..., well..., um...Atop drinking & posting "problem" you've mentioned before. **hiccup* I had to log in for that one!! Sipping my morning coffee with my left hand and patting my blonde hair as I also resemble that remark!!! did not catch it earlier....good eye holst

I've just read a few posts about feeling welcome here and have to say there have been times when I feel this is the wrong place for me because so many of the regular posters have met, been to concerts together or have had listening parties and so most of the conversation turns to talk of your shared experience. Most of my posts are ignored. I except that because I love to talk about Adam and have learned so much about him and the music business here. I do not have the $$$ to travel far to concerts or get togethers but I would in a minute if I did. I to have been shot down with a comment or two that someone didn't agree with then stepped back and just lurked for a while. No longer will I do that. I've learned we are all his fans and equally invested in him. So bring it on and I will respond. I do love it here and one day hope to meet some of you!!! Sometimes I feel just like you do. You are not alone. I still continue to come here and post even if no one is listening. Don't let anyone bother you, and just remain on the site, either lurking or posting. Someone is listening. It's probably me. I enjoy even the weird, clickie stuff. I mostly lurk and enjoy it all. The love, the heated discussions, the pictures etc. It is because of the 'core" fans here that DO post a lot that keeps this place moving along for those of us that lurk. I know how new people feel because we all go through it. I felt the same when I first started to post. Even now, sometimes people respond and sometimes they don't. I don't take it personally and the thread can move around on topics very fast. So lurk or join in it's all good:-)

I am really hoping to meet more other fans the next time Adam tours too. There are a lot of people on ALFC I want to meet. I've only been on this board about a month but already I'm starting to get a feel for some personalities and hope there will be more chances to meet up. So far, the only other Adam fans I've met in person were at a birthday party in Dallas, which was fun.
Question about the Pennyroyal thing/Trevor project. Apologies in advance if this has been asked and answered before. Is there a way to contribute to the Trevor Project, in such a way that it will count towards Adam's fundraising goal, even if you don't want to buy the peace pendant? Or is buying the pendant the only way to help?

Most of us really don't get responses on our posts too often, but just know that even when I am not responding to posts, they are never ignored. There are so many great posts, and usually when I read, I am nodding my head or smiling or reading someone else's response that already says what I would have said in a response, and far better at that, so I just kind of read on. When I post, I just imagine others doing the same thing, LOL, whether they are or not. In my mind, I see you all nodding. Your words help me...my feeling may be more in my head than in reality. that is how I used to feel, too. Especially if I've made what I consider a clever or funny comment that in my head I'm thinking, c'mon that was FUNNY! Tell me you think so, too. But I now imagine people smiling or nodding. Sometimes I send people a private message if I liked something, but don't want to interrupt the flow of the board. Love ALL you guys! Edited to add (ETA): the little envelope under someone's name allows you to respond directly and only to that person. Only requirement, you have to be logged on for a minute or two. And lots of times I take so long typing a response that the thread has moved on (like now) and I feel like a dork!)
