I'm posting an excerpt here from a column of *gasp* John Moser's review of the top 24 on Idol. He mentions Adam briefly in his critique of James Durbin - surprise, surprise - but the real reason I'm posting this is for the following paragraph: What does that tell you about Mr. John Moser and his dislike of Adam? I'm not posting the link here but I will post it in the Members Only AI thread if you want to read the entire thing. (I agree with most of what he said strangely enough, although not about Jacob Lusk.) ETA: sugaree - so happy about Shadow!! WOW! Moser just let the cat out of the bag, didn't he??!! Is he getting tons of comments on this? Q3, I may never forgive you for that! ^^^^^^^ ETA: He probably wouldn't get approval to sing it from Plant.

My guess is that James refers to Adam for too reasons -- he is a male vocalist with a high vocal range and he was/is a bit off of the mainstream, and he is an outsider We all recognize that Adam is a role model to people who are not mainstream. And clearly, Adam is inspiring all kinds of people to persue their dream and not give in to pressure to be "normal" whatever "normal" is. But you know, James' admiration of Adam is really quite sweet, and in my opinion TOTALLY matches Adam's stated hopes that he can be an inspiration to those lonely kids (or adults!) who feel like the oddball outsiders. I'm not watching Idol this year (more b/c I'm either not home or I'm putting a small kidlet to bed at that time than for any sort of anti-AI reason). However, I truly hope James does the best he can in this competition and that - whenever he leaves - he can do it with his head held high. I'm so confused as to how people are getting admiration from the two comments James has made. In his Road to Hollywood vid, what he actually said was, "My favorite Idol moment would have to be when Adam Lambert played with KISS, because KISS is like one of my all time favorite bands, and I just got to see them, and it was amazing. And it's just ... to imagine myself being there, just blows my mind." That seems to be about KISS more than Adam. And then last night what he actually said was, "I started my journey throwing my screams in, just like Adam Lambert. And it's like, what else can I do, they're just gonna expect it, you know?" To me it doesn't sound like he admires Adam so much as he totally thinks he can BE him. Last night's clip was from after he got a negative response from the judges after his group performance. It felt like he was frustrated, saying, I'm doing it just like Adam Lambert, I don't get why it's not working, that's what they wanted me to do. I think an example of someone actually admiring Adam is Casey Abrams, who said in his Road to Hollywood vid, "My favorite American Idol moment would probably be Adam Lambert singing Ring of Fire by Johnny Cash, because he twisted it and made it into this very middle eastern sounding thing and it just sounded incredible with his voice, even though it was country week, but it just ... it was amazing."

Every time Adam puts his hand down his pants I turn into a 28-year old wild child. Where was he when I was 28? I would have begged him to let me work for him. I was a great Executive Administration Assistant with accounting.. Oh, THAT kind of work !
