NEW HAIR ALERT!!!! SHAVED SIDES ARE BACK!!!!!!
9.28.11 by Q3
Fans are posting mixed reviews to Adam’s latest hair image. Monday night Adam dropped into La Cita for Mustache Monday and had a new look. [This is the same LA hot spot that Lady Gaga used for the scene of her birthday party – the party that Adam attended as a guest of the Scissor Sisters, fist-pumped the ceiling and made a bit of news.]
Adam Lambert: @hellojonte and I last night at Mustache Mondays! Fishy. say.ly/lTWLJ7

A few other random tweets….
turn into a powerful and memorable moment.

Adam the music critic checks in:
Adam Lambert: @jasonderulo lovin that Breathing track! Congrats on the album!!!
But then Adam tweeted a photo of his new hair….
Adam Lambert: @hellojonte and I last night at Mustache Mondays! Fishy. say.ly/lTWLJ7
And the failing and fan wailing began until Adam changed this. Was this Adam’s attempt to change the subject from “the hair” or inspired by the “Southwest Airlines” moment of intolerance or just a bit of evening musing? Whatever it was, it was an amazing event.
Adam Lambert: I wanna know something about you all. Strange question, but I find it healing to get things out in the open:What's YOUR biggest insecurity?
Adam Lambert: Wow we all have so many of the same hang ups. Sorta makes u feel better right? Helps a lot to just be upfront and honest the people u love.
Adam Lambert: Mine? I have bad skin... But acne scarring... Breakouts. Sucks. But whatever... U gotta accept your flaws.

Wow, the reaction to Adam's tweets was one of the most amazing things I've seen. First Adam tweeted the photo, and people were flailing and UNFing and ~commenting on the hair.
Then he tweeted the question about our insecurities, and there was a bit of a pause, and then his @ replies absolutely exploded. I swear they were going by so fast on Tweetdeck it was impossible to read. All you could do was catch a word or phrase here and there: fat, alone, scared, being judged, feeling dumb... etc etc etc.
An outpouring of vulnerability and pain. And then he tweeted about people all having the same hangups, and after a little while a lot of the tweets shifted to people thanking him and expressing love. And I saw lots of tweets where people were giving each other "hugs" and support and love as they read other people's confessions.
Now after his last tweet it's an outpouring of love towards Adam. (And lots of tweets from people who say they have the same issues.)
I feel like I witnessed some kind of living-art/therapy session/flashmob/social experiment. Very, very cool. Adam has a lot of power-- I kind of feel like we're only seeing the very beginnings of what he is capable of.
Once you tweet it, you can't take it back
@djdrifta tried to take something back. Check out the 9.27.11 Adamtopia News for all the djdrifta tweets – haven’t people learned that you can’t really delete things from Twitter that have to do with @adamlambert?
djdrifta: Had to delete some of the tweets from last night guys & girls, got a bit excited & jumped the gun a bit, but hold tight! ;-) #TellDemDrifta
Once again, we learn that not all kisses are equal
9.28.11 by Q3
I am still not sure exactly what happened on Southwest Airlines but I do know that not all kisses are equal in America. There can be no debate about it.
Here’s a fill-in-the-blank for you, “This is a family-friendly ___(a)_________, don’t you know you can’t ____(b)___________ that here, it is offensive to many of our customers/visitors/guests/members.”
Then complete the sentence with one of these:
a. airline, TV show, theme park, restaurant, water fountain, school, etc. etc. …anyplace will do.
b. kiss another guy, kiss another girl. [It is OK to kiss members of the opposite sex, animals and children in any of these places.]
………….
Once in the United States, there were places for white people and places for coloreds. It was not that long ago but today it seems ridiculous. Water fountains for whites only? Restaurant counters for whites only? Schools, hotels, rail cars, etc. America was segregated by law in some places (not just the south) and effectively by private rules in most of the rest of the US. Looking at the US today, it is hard to imagine that this ever happened.
Now we have a new line (it is only new because it used to be an unseen line) – the line between “family friendly” and gay. Adam’s performance at the AMA’s was inappropriate during “family viewing hours” in the Central Time Zone. Gay Days at Disneyland are a problem; let’s boycott Disney until they stop this. Disney is for families!!
Earlier this year, Facebook removed gay kissing photos from their site and labeled them indecent. In brief, talk show host Richard Metzger posted a story to Facebook about a "kiss in" held at an English pub that had ejected two men for kissing. Facebook quickly removed the story—apparently because of the above picture. Oddly, the “banned” picture came from a Facebook event being used to promote the kiss-in. But according to Metzger, that event has been removed too. Facebook later posted a sort-of apology in the site’s comments. It is rare for an advertiser to incorporate a gay kiss in a TV commercial….this ad was banned by the TV networks in the US in 2008. Most advertisers would never dare to use a commercial like this.
And in the UK, an ad for Heinz Mayo was pulled after less than a week on air after viewers complained that it was 'offensive' and 'inappropriate to see two men kissing.' Other complaints include that the ad was 'unsuitable to be seen by children' and that it raised the difficult problem of parents having to discuss the issue of same-sex relationships with younger viewers. 'It is our policy to listen to consumers. We recognize that some consumers raised concerns over the content of the ad and this prompted our decision to withdraw it,' said Nigel Dickie, director of corporate affairs for Heinz UK." ……………………..
This is not just a US problem….more from the UK:
A new study commissioned by British Prime Minister David Cameron to protect children from seeing inappropriate images on television will suggest that no gay kisses be shown on television before the 9pm "watershed."
And another UK kiss banning – and they are not even gay!
Regulators have banned an advertisement that showed a priest and nun looking as though they were about to kiss. The image was thought “likely to cause serious offence”. The Advertising Standards Authority received ten complaints about the advert for Antonio Federici Gelato Italiano ice cream after it appeared in Delicious magazine and Sainsbury’s Magazine. In the picture, the priest was wearing rosary beads and holding a pot of ice cream above the slogan “Kiss temptation”. The authority said the advert breached decency rules. “We considered that the portrayal of the priest and nun in a sexualised manner and the implication that they were considering whether or not to give in to temptation, was likely to cause serious offence to some readers,” the ruling states. …………………..
Now I am not sure if Southwest Airlines [official airline of GLAAD] was justified or not in their actions. I am certain that the whole story will come out eventually. But I am sure that this incident would not have gone down the same way if this was a “girl kissing a boy.”
Update: Southwest finally responded. Reading both statements, it appears that there was some yelling on the plane BUT I still don't understand why there was a conversation between the flight attendant and Leisha and Cam that started the yelling. I do not believe we have the whole story yet. (posted below)

We are making progress – in the US and around the world. But I lived through the racial civil rights era in the US, and learned that patience is a necessary part of the process of change.
Official Statement from Camila Grey and Leisha Hailey on the Southwest Incident
SEPTEMBER 27, 2011
UH HUH HER:
Camila Grey and Leisha Hailey statement
We have always promoted tolerance, openness and equality both as a band and as individuals. We both come from loving homes where our parents not only love and accept us, but are also proud of who we are. We believe everyone has the right to live openly in this society as equals. In no way were our actions on Southwest Airlines excessive, inappropriate or vulgar. We want to make it clear we were not making out or creating any kind of spectacle of ourselves, it was one, modest kiss. We are responsible adult women who walk through the world with dignity. We were simply being affectionate like any normal couple. We were on the airplane less than 5 minutes when all was said and done. We take full responsibility for getting verbally upset with the flight attendant after being told it was a “family airline.” We were never told the reason the flight attendant approached us, we were only scolded that we “needed to be aware that Southwest Airlines was a family oriented airline.” No matter how quietly homophobia is whispered, it doesn’t make it any less loud. You can’t whisper hate. We ask this airline to teach their employees to not discriminate against any couple, ever, regardless of their own beliefs. We want to live in a society where if your loved one leans over to give you an innocent kiss on an airplane it’s not labeled as “excessive or not family oriented” by a corporation and its employees. We find it very disturbing that the same airline who lauds itself as being LGBT friendly has twisted an upsetting incident that happened into our behavior being “too excessive.” The above is not an apology and we are in the process of filing a formal complaint with the airline. We hope that when all is said and done a greater tolerance without prejudice will evolve.

More from Southwest -- maybe it was not about "the kiss"
In the ongoing saga of Southwest Airlines, I read this in a CNN posting:
"Southwest adds in a statement to CNN that "Additional reports from our Employees and Customers onboard flight 2274 during a stop in El Paso on Sunday now confirm profane language was being used loudly by two passengers. At least one family who was offended by the loud profanity moved to another area of the cabin."
The statement continues, "Although we have reports of what Customers characterize as an excessive public display of affection, ultimately their aggressive reaction led to their removal from the aircraft. We do not tolerate discrimination against anyone for any reason. In this situation, their removal was directly and solely related to the escalated conversation that developed onboard the aircraft."
Southwest goes on to say that their "tenets of inclusion and celebration of diversity among our Customers and Employees — including those in the LGBT communities — anchor our Culture of mutual respect and following the Golden Rule...ALL are valued and welcome."
The article also said that SWA had offered them a full refund.
