Not sure they are fans though. twitter.com/mashable/status/1097628722453233665Mashable @mashable Buckle up, Queen is performing at the Oscars trib.al/W6wBrRK Guys. Queen is performing at the Oscars this year. With Adult Goth/possible vampire Adam Lambert at its helm, Queen is set to dazzle us all during the awards show, which controversially tried to cut four categories from its broadcast in hopes of saving time. The Academy tweeted a teaser on Sunday, with a mash-up of "Bohemian Rhapsody" and "We Will Rock You." Lambert, who has been touring with Queen in Freddie Mercury's place as lead singer, tweeted, "We will rock The Oscars." As Vulture points out, the performance is odd because Bohemian Rhapsody isn't even nominated for Best Original Song. Meanwhile, Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper will perform "Shallow" from A Star Is Born and Bette Midler will sing "The Place Where Lost Things Go" from Mary Poppins Returns, both of which are nominated for Best Original Song.

I was just curious as to how many folks watch the Oscars worldwide. Seems stats are hard to come by from over 200 countries. The once touted 1 billion number isn't correct anymore. Now the Oscars themselves say "hundreds of millions". No way to get accurate stats from many countries. The US watching was down last year quite a bit to 26.5 million....down from 30 million in 2017. Heck....American Idol was getting those numbers back in it's early years thru when Adam was on.
