bit.ly/oODIqsUS sales are typically 40% to 70% of total global sales for US based artists. Interestingly, Lady Gaga's BTW is 71% US sales. This is probably a distortion caused by the 400K units sold on Amazon for $0.99. Take them out and it looks more normal.
Adele’s ’21′ recently became the first album since 1993 to spend 30 weeks in the top 5 of the Billboard 200 but now she has achieved an even more impressive feat. The LP has captured the honor of being the fast-selling album in the world since 2004.
’21′ slipped just one spot to #2 behind Lady Antebellum’s ‘Own The Night’ on the United World Chart this week after selling 276K copies. However, with sales exceeding 10.15 million units worldwide after just 34 weeks, ’21′ is now the fastest-selling release since Usher’s ‘Confessions’ accomplished that total in the same amount of time during 2004.
Simultaneously, on the United World Tack Chart, Maroon 5 and Christina Aguilera’s ‘Moves Like Jagger’ remained at #1 with yet another 437K copies sold. Check out the the lineup of the leading Urban/Pop albums and tracks in the world below:
