Talk about double standards. I was watching a documentary on Led Zeppelin last night. There was a part where they discussed Jimmy Page, during Zeppelins time as huge rock stars, dating a 14 year old teen model. They even interviewed her as an adult and she talked about her time as his girlfriend. And they showed pictures so it was very much out in the open. I wonder if when the media were harassing Freddie (because there were questions about his sexuality) if anyone had anything to say about Page at the time. If Adam was a 37 year old straight man and started dating a 21-22 year old young woman, he'd be called a really lucky guy. I like your Jimmy Page example of the age gap thing. The fact that Adam and Javi are a gay couple means that the rules are different for them. At least the attitude, if not the rules. Agree but I was only talking about Page and Freddie and who was being harassed. One for sexuality but the other dating a 14 year old underage teen seemed to go unnoticed. I think Adam and Javi will be fine. Their age difference is just not that big a deal, imo. Their business. Some will try to make it so but they are both adults so hopefully they will be allowed to live their lives in peace and on their terms. But sadly maybe not.

I know that the idea here is to discuss age difference and the different perceptions in straight versus gay situations, and that is all fine. Javi is an adult, and can make his own choices, these are just dumb and unfortunate comments, and we need to ignore them, and by the way, so does Javi, if he wants to run his own darn life.
But using Jimmy Page as a reference point is about as unfortunate as can be. Or misleading.
The girl was 14 years of age, Jimmy Page drugged her up, abducted her first to a hotel room, and then supposedly to South America, and the girl's parents have never seen their 14 year old daughter ever again. I cannot even imagine what these poor parents must have gone through. The girl was slut-shamed and called a groupie, even though she had been plucked from the audience by one of Page's handlers.
I remember living in Germany and was a teenager myself, when all this went down. Interpol got involved and they were searching for the girl. The shameful thing was that Jimmy Page was not arrested and locked up, which is what should have happened. But he was a 'Rock God', and national as well as international organizations rather twisted the law, than arrest him any time he set foot on an airport or any arena. They just did not fulfill the law. Period.
it was a huge scandal, as it should have been, and conservatives, at the time, rightfully complained, that liberals clearly had different standards of law for different people, and apparently it was ok to sacrifice a 14 year old on the altar of sexual revolution and rock&roll. Yes, it was all over the media, it was news everywhere.
It is my understanding that JP waited until the girl was of consenting age and she was then paraded in front of cameras, where she make a statement that she was happy with her life and did not want to return home, and that was the end of that. Nobody knows, what the circumstances were for her over the years I just know that this is the first time I heard the term Stockholm syndrom, growing up.
Yes, pedophilia and child rape accusations were often hanging over Jimmy Page's head, even though he was never charged. And that is besides all the plagiarism discussions and charges that keep coming up again and again. He got away with pretty much everything in his life. There is presently one new case being prosecuted in NY regarding the plagiarism charges, and as far as I hear, this law suit is such that for the first time Jimmy Page is sweating a bit, that this one might actually have some teeth. Dunno.
So far nobody has charged him over all the other accusations, and it is safe to say, that the statue of limitations means that this will remain that way.
Jimmy Page may be a great guitar player and song-(re)writer, but an angel or even a nice guy, he is not. There are reasons that Robert Plant is quite careful with reunion plans, there is more charred soil there, than most of the public knows. Contrary to the Queen guys, who fought with each other, but generally were nice guys, things were not always so kosher with Led Zep.
Good music does not mean good person. Even the folklore knows that one: i.e. The devil supposedly was an excellent violin players and used his fiddle to mislead those that trusted the beautiful sounds. Just saying. The story is not new, it just keeps repeating in different variations.
So, the last story I want to see Adam compared to, is this mess that I just described. There is also no reason for bringing it up. Javi is of consenting age and about 5 years beyond it. It is their life, and should not be mixed up with such a pedophilia story. And whoever may have started it on twitter or wherever, either had bad intentions and wanted to paint Adam in a shady light, or knew nothing about the comparisons that he or she was drawing. Hopefully it stops quickly.
Anyways, I hope Adam knows to tread carefully when it comes to Jimmy Page. I would not touch him with a ten-foot pole, for all its worth. Churns my stomach to see Adam even compared to that mess from 40 years ago. Totally unfair.

Scary tornado in your state I just read....hope you're far, far away !! Yes, some really bad weather in the southern part of the state. We've just had tons of rain. You never know where the storm lines will develop. We've got another 2 1/2 months of tornado season. The F4 that hit me back in 2011 was in April.

Looks like Javi is at Ysabel Restaurant there in West Hollywood. From his IG story.

Thanks. That was before my time so I had never heard of it. The documentary was misleading as it did not share all of this. And the woman in the interview only called herself his former girlfriend. But you are right, my comment had nothing to do with Adam and I'm sorry it was introduced as part of that story. Was not my intent. I have little interest in wanting to be in the middle of Adam's private life more than he wants to share. And his relationship is not in the same league with anything illegal so should be left out of it and left alone. And ugly comments should be left where they are.
