I agree, Adam's fans - Cassie, Lulu, SusieFierce, et al - responded to that "apology" (?!)beautifully. And what was with that bizarre 'he's a pop-singer' defense? Yep, Adam's a 'pop-singer.' And someone's son, and someone's brother, and someone's lover, and someone's godfather, and many someones' friend . . . UGH. Well, that guy's right about one thing. This is an opportunity for reflection . . . FOR HIM. I wonder if he'll take it, though, and really ask himself, "in all seriousness," WHY he 'joked' about locking 'pop-singer' Adam Lambert, who he admittedly never HEARD before, in a burning building. He really needs to analyze THAT aspect of the "furthest recesses of [his] mind." Has he ever directed that level of hateful "humor" at any other "pop-singers"? I wouldn't bet on it. (don't mind me - still a little ticked off, venting . . . ) ITA. Don't want to beat it to death, but I also wonder why there is such an audience for this kind of work. I was reading a review earlier this week of a gossipy book recently published about a celebrity, and the reviewer not only blasted the author, but the audience who cackles and revels in this sort of thing. It reveals an ugly side of mankind. As opposed to THIS side of mankind: Let's make today a fun day. This was an unexpectedly not-so-fun week.

Awww, thanks guys. (Lulu, where did the aw shucks smiley go? I can't find it on your PB page?) LOL, that post was a drama in the wee hours. First, I wrote it on my phone, but it wouldn't post, which is a REAL good thing because it was chock-full o typos. I finally had to copy and paste and email it to myself to get it on my computer. I pasted and cleaned it up and then it wouldn't post again! This happened like three times and the thing is, I had the unedited version in my memory, so had to keep going back to re-edit. : Only got an hour's sleep after that. Oh well, time for coffee and yay "Majors & Minors" story. Again, it's all about Adam (lol, there were other mentors on that show, but that's okay, love that Shirley is such a bert.)

The comments on the "apology" blog are saying it all, so I don't think there is more to add there.
Question: should he be removed from air? If it were my decision I would remove him temporarily (like a kid in time-out, he seems to be about that mental age level). Up his education during that time on a few matters.
a) Bullying and what triggers it b) Reasons and signs of homophobia c) Reasons and signs of anti-antisemitism (running someone into burning buildings and ramming doors shut has history in Reichskristallnacht, Nov. 7 1938) d) Hate against pop artists, in general? And he chose DJ as his career? e) Hate arbitrarily against somebody you don't know => Psychopath?
So, which of these does he see himself under?
He needs to do a little thinking and hopefully growing up, but eventually give him a second chance. Firing people for everything may be very common in America, but in the end just a knee-jerk reaction that leads to no true improvement or growth. Second time: Take him off the air permanently.
But public apology (to Adam, not fans) is needed on the very same airwaves that listened to his hate speech in the first place. Otherwise listeners will not know that the speech did result in consequences. And obviously, a real one, not this garbled nonsense he issued to fans.
YMMV.
ETA: I don't think that this guy even knows that Adam is Jewish, so it is not that I think this was his motive, but it is a tad unclear what was, so I'll add it as a possibility. He seems full of hate against all kinds of "groups", us fans now being one of them, we are useless non-contributors to society, lol. Lots of mental boxes and stereotypes and no analysis of any of the nonsense that is going on in his head. Historically, such people can be and have been used to ignite masses of people towards committing hate crimes, if given a public forum.

Did anyone at some point screencap the blog apology post because there is now nothing on that blog past Dec 2009?

I have to say I think is was probably because 1. We (the fans) didn't come across as a bunch of BSC nutters 2. Adam came out of it looking good. No surprise there then! 3. Ryan thingymaflip was revealed as a bit of a pillock. JS

Yes, he must have deleted it. If you click on the link for the blog itself there is nothing in the archives past Dec 2009 and more interestingly he is called Brother Ryan on the blog. Wonderful example of some sort of religious leader?
