The Waiting Fan’s Survival Guide

Someday we will get a single release date. Someday the next Adam single will be released. Someday the music video will debut. Someday we will find out the album release date. And then the promotion will start. In the meantime, the prepared fan knows how to survive.

1. Make sure you have a good supply of great Adam animated GIFs, macros, videos and photos. Sharing them with friends is a great way to survive the wait and is a real gift to other fans.

1B. Have a few crazy GIFs around to add some sparkle and excitement to your posts.

2. Play the “What If Adam….?” Game. I don’t need to explain the rules because there are no rules and it is so easy to play.

3. Keep a lot of salt around. You know the old expression, “take that with a grain of salt”. To take a statement with 'a grain of salt' or 'a pinch of salt' means to accept it but to maintain a degree of skepticism about its truth. The expression comes from the fact that food is more easily swallowed if taken with a small amount of salt.

4. If you venture into the Twitterverse, remember that just because someone Tweets something does not mean it is true. [Example: An Adam sighting in a Walmart in Los Angeles might happen in the Twitterverse but not in real life. There is no Walmart in West LA and Adam is not likely to be shopping in Culver City (his nearest Walmart). Frankly, the only Adam Lambert I can imagine seeing in Walmart is one of his CDs.]

5. Put together an essentials stockpile so you can survive until the music starts. I have a large cache of wine, beer, spirit and libations of all kinds, chocolate and caramel popcorn.



6. Create a playlist that includes a maximum of 1/3 Adam music. That way it will take 3 times as long to listen to all your Adam music. Kind of like long commercial breaks waiting to get to the good stuff.

7. Spend the afternoon rearranging your Adam photo collection. Then spend an evening organizing your videos. And don’t forget your digital music archive.

8. Check out the latest releases from artists recommended by Adam and that involve his collaborators. It is new music only one degree of separation from Adam’s new music.

So what Waiting Fan Essentials did I forget?
