Kelly's single was sent to radio 4-5 days before they released it to i-tunes. Her add date was one week later. RCA seems to be taking a different strategy with Daughtry. I don't know about Cook. His single and album did so poorly, that RCA might not have had the same aggressive rollout for this era. ?? It seems that way because she got over 100 adds before the adds date. Her single permiered on her website on 8/30. It went to i-Tunes the following Tuesday, 9/5. It's official adds dates were 9/12 HAC and 9/13 CHR. But you are correct about the order of Daughtry being different. He went premiere, radio, then i-Tunes. Kelly went premiere, i-tunes, then radio. It's just that radio played her song immediately before even an add date. Must be nice! ETA: I think premiere, radio, then i-tunes is the norm so an audience builds on radio before the sales release. rheimer, your countdown is making me depressed because I really don't think we will have a single in 2 weeks. I'm not saying it won't be before Christmas(because I think it will,) but I doubt in 2 weeks. I think there would be some news by now, if we were. RCA started the Daughtry buzz after they got Kelly's buzz going well. I think Adam's buzz will start after the Daughtry buzz. Perhaps after Kelly's album comes out, 10/25. I have nothing to go on other than instincts. Songs get played before their add date all the time. If Adam's single is good, it will receive radio spins before the adds date. ITA, October is pretty much out at this point. The information about Kelly's single and album release came out about three weeks before the radio premier of MKIA. We can still hope for November!

??? baking4fun Michelle Great ?Thx!“ islandgirljams: @shirleyhalperin hi Shirley! In addition to your report that Adam switched mgmt, is he still with RCA as well?” 3 hours ago y in reply to @baking4fun ↑ shirleyhalperin shirleyhalperin @baking4fun yes he is. Ill have an album update soon9 minutes ago shirleyhalperin @shirleyhalperin Los Angeles Music Editor, The Hollywood Reporter. Author of many leather-bound books. Idol worshiper. tinyurl.com/n6fodsI love a "soon" update as much as anyone, but really- why are we asking Shirley if he's still with RCA? Because she knows so much about his contractual relationships? I can't seem to make this smiley bigger, but please notice that I am rolling my eyes. If this is based on Lee being released by RCA- why in the world would we think-"Oh, no! If they aren't keeping Lee, Adam must be next to go!" Or maybe the chicken littles of fandom have taken over the asylum. But this does not mean I'm not interested in an album update, of course!

ITA, October is pretty much out at this point. The information about Kelly's single and album release came out about three weeks before the radio premier of MKIA. We can still hope for November! It's all academic to me what comes first. All I want is an announcement and to hear the fucking song. If this means it's 2.75 weeks prior to iTunes adds taking into account Daylight Savings and the waning Mayan calendar, that will then put it technically to Novemberish (in the Southern Hemisphere) prior to CHR, HAC adds ... Who the fuck cares??? Give me a god damned date and a preview of the song. The rest will happen when it happens – but it will be in a matter of weeks from initial date. I had to see "Shane" in school a couple of times (high school and college), it's a great film. ETA: Yes, Cookie, some people began to get a little freaked out when he wasn't mentioned in the Lee thing (which of course, only mentioned AI winners). I don't think they thought he left, but that he might have been shifted to Epic or Arista. Some were worried that the ink wasn't dry on the DMG deal (because of the lack of a website update, press releases, IMDb management listing update, both AO and ALF becoming ghost towns, seemingly without a sheriff, to keep our western motif going here ...) and just wanted some inside scoop from a person who is close to the situation, so they asked Shirley. Hopefully "soon" means in a few hours, NOT a few days. Or worse.

we're all loosing it :-/ IKR? Poor Shirley probably doesn't even know she's being cryptic. :-/ I just wish someone would say news "tomorrow, next week or something more specific. I can deal with whenever the single or album comes out. I want the best timing for Adam. But waiting and not knowing is a lot harder than waiting and knowing, if that makes any sense.
