The thing about these recordings, especially the cv ones, is that they could totally market them honestly as what they are. Rock recordings before he became big. They wouldn't seem so slimy and people might bite. On the upside I don't think there will be as many people fooled by a cover that doesn't have his picture on the front. Pure Speculation:There is one thing. Wexford was going to release the CV recording and they were apparently stopped. The last I thought I heard was that Adam and Monte did have the rights to those songs, so that is how they stopped the release and Wexford had to go back to the demos for Take 1. Also, and this is rumor, I heard that Adam signed the songs over to Monte because of Idol/RCA. So, what changed?Hmm, I don't think I've heard it quite that way, but it would actually shed some light on the how-did-the-songs-they-wrote-become-fair-game? issue. If that is the case, then WHOA! I'm side-eying Monte even harder right now. Hoppers, LOVE your edits to the Welsford bio. Reihmer, OMG, those Ellen gifs are gorgeous!!! (My avi day, ty!)

If the rumor is true that Adam/RCA signed the CV songs over to Monte, then he would have been the only one who could have allowed this to happen. Twitter is on a rampage against Monte, but until he speaks I will reserve judgement. First I've heard of this, when did this rumor start? I'd like to know why Adam is so rightly pissed off if this was remotely true. #confused Check the quote above mine from Stardust. I used that quote for this info.

Gah. Can't help it. Where's Sauli's squirrel? I need to outfit him with a video camera and bribe him with acorns to sit on Adam's windowsill while he yells at the phone......

Wow Lulu that is interesting to compare, both dated in 2009, but the first one was blocked.

If this is right than they look like the same track listing. On with the Show from 2009 was blocked and Take One was released instead because they were song demo's that Adam didn't write. ------------------------------------------------ On with the Show - 2009 ------------------------------------------------------- Copywrite for "Beg for Mercy" bit.ly/nCX4ieHoly crap, Lulu!!! You are a SuperSleuth!!! A Master Ninja of the Highest Order. Interesting how the co-writes vanished for the "Take One" release. Yet here they are again, but it will be interesting to see what is actually released.

The important part is: What can we as fans do about it?
a) Being quick and ready to leave negative comments the moment something is released on Amazon or i-tunes is essential. With Bastard 1 we Glamberts very quickly wrote comments and it killed the online buzz. Unfortunately I assume that this time they will have a few users hired ready to write comments too.
On i-tunes you have to buy to be able to comment, so yup, somebody on Adam's side paid the 12.99 just so they could leave a negative comment and hopefully deter thousands of unassuming people from buying this. It was worth the USD 12.99 imo. I don't think Take One sold a lot on i-tunes. We won that one. Lesson learned.
b) Right now in pre-sales phase I believe comments are free, at least on Amazon, if I am not mistaken. Need to go check. Let's leave some comments there now. Please overseas folks also check the corresponding country versions. I know that I left some comments on Amazon.de last time, but Amazon is reviewing and approving comments and I presume they noticed my IP address because my comments got tossed. So you need to be in Germany to leave the comment. So, please overseas members here, check your local Amazon and I-tunes and CD-now pages, etc. as we go along.
c) This is a moment where relying on the big name label and throwing that name around actually makes sense.
i.e. Adam is with Sony/RCA. If it's not Sony then in that case it is phony! What we need to do is create awareness among DJs, media folks, regular music buyers that there is a potential issue and that they need to be on alert. But do it in such a way that we do not name or discuss the bastard album or draw any attention to it. Just tell people to watch out for the real stuff.
d) As much as misplacing an album or putting a removable warning sticker on it may be gratifying, I do not recommend that. It is illegal and can get you in trouble and if you misplace the album, eventually an employee is going to find it and put it back on the shelf and it is available for sale again. As much as I was fighting with my own Target because they were selling Take One, but not FYE and reported that to RCA many times, I do believe that ultimately the reason the Take One was sitting there and FYE was not, was because FYE had sold already. The frustrating thing about my Target was that the bin label said Take One and was showing in the Best Seller section, vs FYE which was just lumped in with all the letter 'L' pop/rock albums. And that to me was a sign of both sabotage as well as a concerted effort on a higher level, because the local employees at Target have no say in the bin layout or labeling. That comes from central. And that is why that pissed me off so much.
This was not at all Targets, but at all Targets with a certain kind of store layout. ie. my town has 3 Targets and only 1 had that problem. The other two were fine. But there was somebody higher-up in Target who was opposing Adam, I am still convinced of that. Unfortunately, I don't think that RCA ever fought that one. I gave them store numbers and everything to follow up on it. Oh well...anyhow, misplacing albums may make you feel better, but it is not as great as it sounds.
Just my take from what I learned from Take round One.
