I am curious how this song will be received by the critics and the non-Glambert public. (Ditto)As to the video, I"ve seen it a couple of times. That's enough for me. No thanks. (Agreed)Hope this is the breakthru that Adam wants. Best of luck to him. (Same)

Just a thought, there is probably a chunk of his fans base who are not going to love this song. But, the "slurry" singing style is modern and current and could bring in a lot of new fans. If they hear it. That is the key question---can they get the song heard? I am loving it now (but I am also a fan who was not crazy about "Feel Something" I like, but was not at all excited by it) This song does not hit me the way Feel Something did. But I do like it and I hope it gets the reception that FS got but with good promotion and radio play. I want it to be a hit for him. I did not love GT at first but it grew on me and I pulled for it to make a move and become a hit. And I do like the bluesy and smokey vibe and change of direction of NE. All a positive and a step up, imo. But you guys are really making me feel a lot better about it so keep the positives going and I'm right with you, lol.

I am not sure what I expected, but this song and video is so Adam. So I started thinking more complexly about the video because I am sure Adam would want to be telling a story. The green elixir is creating awareness and strengthening a sense of self in each of the characters and the tieline is 'The Senses'. The old man was left out and then he TASTED the elixir and became part of the events The artist HEARD the music and connected with his art The women SMELLED the scent and saw connection with each other The young person SAW themselves truly with the lipstick and embraced an authentic vision of themselves And finally, I'm guessing Adam FELT something on that bed All five senses: touch, sight, smell, hear, and taste. Or maybe I am just overthinking it :D That is a bit similar to the interpretation that I came up with for myself. But focused not so much on the senses alone, but more on the feeling free to overcoming a taboo. Like the old guy never was free to explore, but with the elixir spilled, now he is. And the women find each other via compassion and following the scent, and being free to explore. And the make-up exploration to me has a strong trans / gender-crossing vibe, Adam the whole time enjoying his own fashion as well as being delighted and satisfied with himself at what he is seemingly starting everywhere. The whole presentation of his own character having a very tongue in cheek overtone to it. Adam is playing 'being full of himself', kind of the master puppeteer, the mc of the story, stringing us along.
So that is the vibe I am getting from the video. and yes, very trippy, and that is normally not my thing, but then Adam has so often made me jump out of my usual tracks, so what else is new. Not sure yet, where we are going with all this, but we shall see. But I am intrigued.
I love the music, lyrics, not so much, tbh...so I don't really mind that I don't understand them, it's fine with me if they are hazy.
Yeah, I am also a bit concerned about Idol, not sure how this will work with the audience and not have most of them stop short of looking deeper, kind of only interpreting it as sleezy and seductive in a druggy sexy kind of way, and not as meaningful. Well we shall see what he does with it. But I am pretty sure he will get a reaction out of everyone. Yup, time to dig out all those gates, probably? They must be stored somewhere.
So, what do folks think is the elixir?
Truth?
Openess? Transparency?
something like that....maybe?

I couldn't care less what the idol audience thinks of it, did you see who they voted for this year? Same old boring production and none of those kids are going anywhere. Sad but true. Anyway, I think this song will do very well! It's sexy and about love. What more could you ask for!

So tongue in cheek the elixir is Adam. I think for live shows he'll change it up a bit. They'll think it's very Elvisy.
