Hmmm... So according to nonotme #'s, Adam was making ~$200/show and in the mid $80K range per year. (That is if he actually worked all year - which I don't know. He could have worked/made much less). Not chicken feed. But not great for an expensive city like LA. Enough to get by, but not enough for the right kind of dimmers, LOL.

I am not sure I know many 27 (?) year olds that make $80,000. That's pretty good money for that age.

Hmm, I tend to get interested in odd details now and again. In yesterday's thread someone mentioned that Adam made $100,000 a year in the ensemble of Wicked. I wondered how we knew this, or if it was just an estimate. Anyway, I found this on ehow: "Ensemble Salary The weekly salaries for stage actors are negotiated by the Actors' Equity Association (AEA), a theater union which negotiates pay rates for actors and stage managers. An ensemble actor in either a musical or a play which appears on Broadway or is on a national tour makes $1,653 per week as of December 2010; this rate agreement stays in place until September 2011. If an actor rotates with an understudy and only works one half-week, that actor earns $952. Increments From this base salary, a Broadway actor earns incremental bonuses for additional responsibilities beyond taking part in the ensemble. For specialty chorus parts, which usually involve a few lines, an actor earns an extra $20 weekly. Swing actors, who understudy several roles, earn an extra $82.65 weekly; actors understudying a single role earn $33 more weekly." A week = 8 performances. Not sure if Adam would have been in the salary category quoted, but it is all that I found in my "massive" 3 or 4 minutes of searching. peace&love in the rolling stone interview it says, he earned 1800$ per week. ETA: here is a link www.vanessagrigoriadis.com/images/pdfs/lambert.pdf it is at the end of page 52

in the rolling stone interview it says, he earned 1800$ per week. At that rate, he'd be making approx $90K per year, which would put him in the 28% tax bracket, leaving him with approx $71K per year after taxes. I don't remember how long he was a chorus boy in Wicked. He did it at one point, left, then came back again. But I don't think he was doing it for years and certainly not long enough to save up a huge nest egg, live in anything better than a studio apartment, or pay his father back. (I clearly remember an interview around the time of Father's Day in 2009 when he talked about finally being able to give his father a big check to pay him back for all the loans/gifts over the years.) I also seem to remember him saying that CV made no money at all -- I think he said the most they made was free drinks at one of the bars.

American Idol made Adam a star! Even the CEO from RCA says this. www.hollywoodreporter.com/idol-worship/adam-lambert-album-update-spring-245974"On the other hand, RCA CEO Peter Edge opined that American Idol was the perfect platform for an artist like Lambert. “Adam is a great example [of how] when you're right for that kind of format, it's a fast way to get attention,” he told THR. “I don't know that Adam Lambert would have found it easy to get a record deal, but from the show, you saw how unique he was, what a great voice and great performer he was. That would have been very hard to do through conventional ways.” www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=742947CD3A1CC931I'm going to have to re-watch all of the American Idol season 8, good thing there's this great youtube channel with all of the videos, because I didn't see Monte or any one else from His pre-idol days on stage with Adam. I THINK it was just ADAM. Hmmm... So according to nonotme #'s, Adam was making ~$200/show and in the mid $80K range per year. (That is if he actually worked all year - which I don't know. He could have worked/made much less). Not chicken feed. But not great for an expensive city like LA. At the beginning of this interview they talk about Adam's salary from wicked and at around the 2 minute mark it's said He made around a couple thousand a week. 2 x 52 weeks = $104,000 [wanders in grinning, wearing boxing gloves] Gelly, SusieFierce - answered your posts in yesterday's thread [wanders off whistling, before replacing her mouthguard] I got a lolly that you can stick in your mouth instead of your mouthguard ;D
