I'm a bit disappointed in the Playmobil review. Maybe it's common to be cynical for kids movies, I never read any reviews for the Lego movies, but I've seen some good reviews for a few animated movies.
I took my grandson to Legoland near San Diego recently, and it was awesome! We had so much fun, I'm going back with him and his younger sister later this year. We watched 2 of their 4D Lego short videos at the park, and they were so funny and entertaining, and the dialogue was witty, I was hoping for something like that for Playmobil movie.
I will reserve judgement until I see it for myself of course.

By the way (don’t think I saw it mentioned here) - but I thought it was typical of Adam’s professional generosity to say nice things about MMartel in the Build interview. It was classy and kind and very Adam.

My 13, 7 and 5 year old granddaughters loved it! Not sure what the reviewers were watching ... ?

The Playmobil movie review is as cynical as it gets. Hope that is only one reviewers opinion and that the kids enjoy it anyway! That's what I thought too. What a bitter and mean review. I REALLY understood from the get go that he didn't like it, but he was very explicit in the details WHY he didn't like it It actually sounded like a review from a LEGO-fan, who doesn’t know anything about Playmobil and isn’t interested in it either. I‘m curious about the reviews from the European and even more from our German press. Every child here knows Playmobil and grew up with it. (As well as LEGO-there has always been a kind of rivalry, that now extends to the bid screen.) The second review is a bit better: it says, that kids won‘t get bored. www.screendaily.com/reviews/playmobil-the-movie-annecy-review/5140284.article
