It’s been a couple of years since I’ve stopped believing that Adam will “take over the world” and started believing that he is a true “niche” artist, with smallish but very faithful following... he is not going to appeal to the kpop crowd or the rap crowd or any of the ones that generate literally billions of streams, either organically or by bot streaming to start their artists up... radio imo is not going to be on board especially now when the majority of the stations are in the hands of super conservative conglomerates...all IMO ! I want the solo tour... but we won’t even see the full album until some time in 2020! So I am gearing up for 2020 to be a full QAL year... anything else will be a pleasant bonus! I think he could have "taken over the world" if his own musical tastes had been different. He tends to go against the grain a bit. Or better, his own taste in music is rather "eclectic". Let's all try to remember the immense response to "Believe". That's his strong suit. I think it has always been pretty obvious where his biggest strengths were. But for some reason, he or the labels never ran with it. And the club crowd always embraced the diva's, teenish acts and true EDM artists. I don't think drag queens in the videos will change that. And others occupied the space that Adam could have and they were not nearly as good. But it doesn't matter now. He is indie and there is only so much attention and exposure that he will get. But he has QAL and a very lucrative career so I'm happy for him for that. He has done great but I also think he could have done much better if he had tried to appeal to a broader audience. But he is going for the audience he wants so his choices are his now. We can only keep streaming, buying and cheering him on.

Music is "big" business. All the factors we weigh and consider are not part of the view in top board rooms.
It takes "big" money to place artists at the top. It has very little to do with the quality of their art.
Don't be discouraged. In about six months some of the information will come out related to who,how and when
music is managed. It is related to corporate money not "art". Look to the corporate owners of record companites at the very top.

I think he could have "taken over the world" if his own musical tastes had been different. He tends to go against the grain a bit. Or better, his own taste in music is rather "eclectic". Let's all try to remember the immense response to "Believe". That's his strong suit. Agree with this. His covers absolutely blow me away, each and every time.My musical tastes tend to be eclectic also, for the most part...or I should say varied. Rufus Wainwright resides in my playlist along with Rascal Flatts and Andrea Bocelli. But I don't appear to be a fan on 70's music lol. My very favorite Adam album remains FYE...loved every single song. Since Idol, many of his covers have really connected. One could say that it is easier to get attention with already approved hit songs, but I think there is more to it. Many of his well received covers so far have had a strong emotional undertone which Adam tends to do well in as he takes the songs to a whole new level of beauty. I am often wondering if Adam looked at it here and there and took a note, or if he simply insisted on doing his own thing. I could never really get on board with the title song of FYE... but that's just me. I was really shocked when Ryan S. played it on the radio for the first time as I expected something very different after "Time For Miracles" and the Idol tour and the many standout performances on Idol. I suppose I was not the only one. Then the AMAs came along... WWFM has always been just okay for me as a song in itself, but it was a stunning "recovery" and it still looks like it is THE song that appeals to the masses. Additionally, I think the WWFM mv supported the song beautifully. It was all Adam in all his honesty and vulnerability and I have a feeling that's how he connects really well. "Vanilla" Adam may have it easier than "edgy" Adam. Duh. I think that each of Adam's albums, especially the first two ones, is loaded with a good number of treasures, but for me the one with the most liked songs including bonus tracks is Trespassing. Besides, I totally loved all the bonus tracks on FYE and TP from "Down The Rabbit Hole" to "Runnin". Now we have a whole new sound to digest and I love it, but I am starting to understand why it has a harder time to connect, even within his fandom. It is a big change, also visually when you look at the mvs and the first NE performances on Idol and Ellen. Not everybody has followed Adam closely within the past 4 years to "get it", and it is a change for those Queenies too who have started to embrace Adam as a solo artist. I really wish that Adam would have looked for his first TV appearances like he did on GMA.

Yet again, I understand why it is an uphill battle for a gay artist who decides to be more than just "vanilla". I adore Adam and that will never change. Fully on board here.
