Just saw this on en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Global_Citizen_Festival "The main 2019 festival is planned to take place on September 28 in New York, with Queen + Adam Lambert being one of the headliners." Posted by: Queen Official (July 29, 2019). Queen + Adam Lambert 2019 Global Citizen Festival Announcement (YouTube). Retrieved July 29, 2019. Just saw the Official Announcement. That'll teach me to post before reading ahead.

Lol, Brian May's insta...I'm one of those people that just doesn't "get" stereo pics...all I see are 2 pics side by side. That's it. When I was a child, I was diagnosed with lazy eye. I had a patch over my good eye and then had to do eye exercises with both eyes- torture to a child. I would hold a 12-15" piece of wood with two pictures at the end, side by side. The object was to put the ball from the picture on the left into the circle on the right. I don't think I ever accomplished it. Every time I see the stereo pictures, I am taken back to that time, even though the stereo pictures are much more interesting than a circle and a ball or a canary and a cage.

When I view videos of Freddie's performances, he does not seem very camp at all. Flamboyant but more rock and roll serious than camp. Any camp seems to be spontaneous and unplanned. Of course, I have never seen him live so it may have been very different. But really happy that Adam is getting so much praise for his vocals and stage presence in his own right. They both deserve all the recognition and accolades that have come their way. I think Freddie was pretty camp in the 70's less so in the 80's. JMHO ITA I was going to post the same thing.
Camp (and glam) were more acceptable in the 70's. It all shifted in the late 70's.
There are not many videos of Queen in the first half of the 1970's.
But even in the early years, Freddie's camp was not like Adam's performance.

I'm not hearing Adam in this, but can't read French? Would this be the voice actor there? So does this guy get the credit for being Maximus in the movie (in France) and not Adam? How does that work? This Sept. 28 show sounds huge. Central Park! QAL as featured performers. I'm thinking about all the people who will see Adam perform for the first time in all his glory! Fantastic exposure! I imagine there will be big media coverage for this event and for the companion shows world-wide. Adam has really nailed some big gigs this year! Oscars, Cher, Elvis, and now this! And new music on the horizon!

So, am I hearing that these world-wide shows, like the QAL one on Sept. 28, are one-band shows at one venue not multi-band shows at one venue? If we are talking about the Global Citizen event: the previous years they were very long( 4 to 5 hours?, longer?)with many big names performing and a huge amount of speakers from various activist organizations as well as people who made a difference in fighting poverty. It is an enormous fund-raiser for the GC cause world wide. It was live streamed in recent years. We we will see the format for this year, perhaps they’ll have the old format and QAL as a closing hour show? I’m just speculating... In the past, MSNBC has broadcast it live in the US. Not sure about this year.
They have not announced this year's lineup yet but QAL will certainly be one on the headliners.
