So do we have to buy OUT in order to get the Advocate? Damn and now OUT is going to be the best selling magazine because of the Advocate?

I found this statement in the article about the AMA performance very interesting. I don't recall him being so specific about this reaction before. It makes total sense to me. It is the "missing link" in explaining to me why he spontaneously did what he did that night. Not that I think previous statements about "being in the moment" and "being inspired by Gaga or being competitive" were not truthful. But, I always felt like there was something more to his motivation. Particularly when coupled with the finger at the end. Not that it matters at all, one way or the other. I just like the glimpse into his mind. And, I loved the comments he made about being in a relationship. He does seem to be very happy, and more relaxed or settled in some way. About the AMA performance- This article finally really explains why he came across so angry and hostile. That performance put a wrong impression in people's minds. I read comments from people who happened to catch his Project Runway appearance that said how surprised they were that he was such a nice, well-spoken good-humored guy. This from people who had basically written him off after the AMA's and hadn't seen him since. My sister was one of those people. She's not a music person anyway, but she is a reality show person. She wrote Adam off after the AMAs but has slowly been softening. When she saw PR, she was totally captivated and surprised. Where 2 months ago she would have been the last person I would ask to go to one of Adam's concerts, I will consider it next tour. In addition, I've had 3 other people call me to mention PR and how great Adam was. They are PR fans, not Adam fans, but that could change. The consensus was that he was one of the best guest judges EVAH!!

LindaG23, Just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed your essay. I was reminded in your analogy to the Mona Lisa also of some of the erotic statues and the like in Indian art. Adam invites us to share with him a spirit and spark, engage us sexually and emotionally, not over-intellectualize everything. Loved it!

So do we have to buy OUT in order to get the Advocate? Damn and now OUT is going to be the best selling magazine because of the Advocate? [/quote At the risk of being slammed by others, Aaron Hicklin's opinions about Adam and Details and not being G-A-Y enough and yada yada are not enough reason for me not to support OUT magazine. Many people on this board are complaining that they can't even find it on their bookstores bookshelves because the places they live in are not liberal enough. OUT magazine is about gay people for gay people by gay people. Aaron screwed up, but we all screw up. I forgive him his bullshit and support his right to his opinion and happily support one of the only magazines in this country for gay people amidst hundreds or heterospecial mags that line the shelves DAILY. If more people buy OUT and support OUT magazine, maybe it will be in demand and be easier to find. They clearly support Adam Lambert, and his growth a pop gay superstar who advocates for his own, an unheard before rarity, as they keep putting him in their publications. Yes, let OUT magazine have some excellent sales. Better for gay people everywhere.

The consensus was that he was one of the best guest judges EVAH!! Mine too! She liked him on Idol but that AMA performance turned her stomach. Not the kiss so much as the angry demeanor and the bad singing. She just wasn't impressed. But she loves PR and said she thought he was pretty good there. He talked about his anger and how it fueled his performance at some point last year. It made sense to me at the time and it still makes sense now. The stereotypes surrounding any particular group are maddening and he was striking back. In front of 14 million people.
