What an amazing and eloquent statement by # 1 fan -- it was so heart-felt and emotional and was so touching! What a brilliant and authentic young lady! Well done! Next, that "review by Keith Spera , I fealt, was so out of touch that it's impossible to think we were watching the same concert! How did he get that job??? John Jane, however said exactally how I felt & im so grateful for his words and thoughts. I saw the concert and it was fabulous!!

I'm glad Adam posted about the fires in the amazone forest. I dug deeper today and it's horrifying as it is heartbreaking. Why can't we treat MOTHER Nature the same way we treat our own mother? 💚💚💚💚💚💚💚

As a heads-up, those who feel distress at the slightest touch of "negativity" please don't read. It has to do with the review. In all fairness to some critics, not everybody will wholeheartedly love Adam and be 100% sold on the QAL collaboration. I can see how Adam's way of being OTT can come across as rather theatrical and bordering Broadway and reflect on the show as such, which is not to everybody's liking, while others totally love and embrace the whole new spectacle the way the new frontman delivers it. I think it is hard to not compare to Freddie, as he had a very different voice and performance style that is engrained in public consciousness and was undoubtedly compelling to many. Let's face it, Adam is not for everybody despite his stellar vocal capabilities. He knows it and I am sure that Brian and Roger do too, but the current success and demand for the tour will probably only make them shrug it off anyways. I think it is near impossible to rationalize with Adam's vocal gift when there are strong preferences and emotions involved, and I bet that even those who have not seen Freddie live have an idea what type of a singer and frontman he was. And to beat a dead horse yet again, Adam is not helping at all with his speech. The "torch" line would be way more reasonable than the OTT worship. I really can't wait for Adam's solo work to kick in. I feel quite deprived of Adam realness at this point and a sound that feels different. My thoughts exactly!

That NOLA review was sucky for so many reasons. How is it that the current tour is too theatrical and bordering on Broadway when classic Freddie did this: And this: And this: and this: And about this line: "For “Bicycle Race,” Lambert arose from beneath a secondary stage at the end of a runway aboard a gleaming white Harley-Davidson. His spiked leather jacket and shades recalled “Faith”-era George Michael; again, he seemed to be playing a part. " But the thing that most griped my ass was: "His remarkable, operatic voice, grand vision, campy yet commanding stage presence and overall cheekiness largely drove and defined Queen. He was, without question, one of rock's great frontmen. " Does that not perfectly describe Adam's performance? Even better than Freddie's. Because, Freddie never had an operatic voice, tho' he wished he did. Adam actually DOES have an operatic voice. Queen built a reputation for being over-the-top, highly theatrical, and a show, not just a concert. Freddie Mercury said, "A concert is not a live rendition of our album. It’s a theatrical event". It seems to me that this iteration of Queen just takes those ideas and transposes them into the 21st century. I think they are doing it perfectly. Oh, well.

Fan vs. Artist was very fun! I think it's often true that fans remember certain dates and details that the artists themselves don't always remember exactly. The fan was so lovely. And yes, I also loved her words about how much Adam means to her and how he has affected her life. I think many of us feel the them. And he's a doll.
AND YES! The promo is beginning! Adam is wasting no time getting out there pushing Velvet! Doing it right on the heels of the QAL tour is a good move. The tour is fresh on people's minds and Adam has gotten lots of praise in the reviews. I hope we all tweet and share and support all his promo stops along the way.

Can't there just be a law passed that says Adam Lambert wins all the awards for everything? From talent to hotness and all in between? Would save a lot of time. But then he’d be criticised for winning too much - after all, he’s not Freddie.... Very true! LOL

Seriously, the pink elephant talk needs to stop... the torch variety is so much more graceful and positive and true to the spirit of all QAL activities! plus (as a minor fact) it is more inclusive for those of us who are there to listen and to see Adam. Thank god Adam is not Freddie, thank god for his voice and his ability to superbly interpret any music he touches, consistently outdoing any original singer ... Agreed...I wouldn't even be following the concerts if it weren't for Adam being part of the group.

cassie, thank you SO much for the perfect examples of Freddie's campiness and theatrics onstage. He said it perfectly. The live shows are not just repeats of the albums. They are theatrical events. And Freddie mastered it perfectly. And Adam is the only one who has all the talents necessary to do the same all these years later. Freddie certainly DID play a character onstage. Many characters. Brian and Roger have pretty much given Adam free rein with what he does onstage. Adam performs with the perfect ingredients that have always made Queen QUEEN! And they love and respect him for it. Adam embodies the essence of Queen in his own way, just like Freddie did.
