All this sounds good except Adam was making excuses for not being Freddie before the movie even came out. It was even in TSMGO Documentary which was filmed before the move. I fast forward past it every time. Thankfully I have yet to hear Brian and Roger apologize for continuing to perform without Freddie. They were the ones who chose Paul (who I don't think ever said sorry for being there) and Adam to front the band later. But as I said, NO minds will be changed. Some think it is needed and others think that after 8 years it should be retired. Will be interesting to see if Adam continues to think he needs to be so OTT with it or tone it down as he has done for some concerts. The concerts where he toned it down about Freddie but carrying the torch worked just fine. No one was outraged and running from the arena. I know because I attended one of the concerts where he was not so OTT about it and it worked fine. And no one has suggested that Adam should ignore Freddie and not acknowledge him at all. Some just like the less OTT version of the speech better. Imo, most of these concert goers (even die hard Queen/Freddie fans and people who saw the movie) are more aware and logical than some give them credit for.

Emperor Maximus ... I love, love, love Adam's song, and I find it perfectly suited for him. I have "Give The People What They Want" on my "recent singles" streaming regimen Q3 made a good point some threads ago about keeping our priorities straight, and she emphasized that this song is not really important in terms of numbers, etc., and focus would be best placed on the songs from Velvet if we want a tour, so I took it off my streaming and am mainly streaming songs from Velvet. Thanks for letting me know, pi. I do focus on songs from Velvet in my streaming, but still I like to play the Playmobil song a little bit.

Thanks for letting me know, pi . I do focus on songs from Velvet in my streaming, but still I like to play the Playmobil song a little bit. If memory serves, Q3 said that after someone posted lamenting the low number of streams for GTPWTW, to tell people to not worry about the streaming numbers for it or put a lot of energy into an organized effort to pump them up - not to discourage anyone from streaming it at all. If you want to listen to the song, by all means go ahead and do it. Taking that stream or two away from the Velvet songs won't make a bit of difference. It's great to stream the Velvet songs. It's important to support Adam in that way. But to a great extent, the streaming numbers will depend on Adam releasing songs that resonate with more than just the small hardcore fan base. I hope Team Adam has something good up its sleeve to promote Superpower and get it the exposure it needs. I really wish I had some idea of exactly what kind of expectations they have for the song - and for the era. It's a whole new world for Adam this time around.

IMHO ,IT's so self defeating for the gay community to not support their artists.. Support would help them all reach full equality.. It's not only Adam who they don't support
Its almost all of their artists. Adam has been such a large force in gaining respect for his community and they pay him back by ignoring his music.
I'm hoping that their new coming together to organize a ground swell of support, to fight for change will inspire others to do the same.. Can you imagine a full blown
campaign to buy and support their own . It's in It's infancy but at least some gay song writers have begun to organize...
The African American Community did this many years ago and look where their artists are today..It just makes me sad,to see such a lack of love for their own folks..The real
CHANGE begins with the gay community.Taylor Swift can sure help, but she needs help.

I agree with everything you said. And it would also be helpful if when one tries to make a move, that the gay media does not use that to bash others who came before them. They did that when Troye stepped out and tried to be bold (his boldness didn't seem to work that well for him either and he said as much in an interview). Instead of just supporting Troye and his efforts, some used the opportunity to say Adam had not done enough. BS, Adam almost lost his career because he was too bold in the beginning. Where was all of his support from his community when he needed them? Why take shots at him in the present? I'm sure his being so public opened the door for others not to have as many problems. But I guess because Adam did not dress like a woman in his videos he had not done enough. Well, that is not his style. They don't all need to do everything or present themselves the same way to prove they are gay. As Adam has always said, they are a diverse community. Then allow them to be different. There should be room for Adam, Troye, Sam, Lil Naz and others to do what is natural for them. They all need support.

It appears as a no brainer that the gay community would support their own artists for more visibility in general. Then again, people listen to what they like, and we all know which artists the gay community worships. Thanks cleopatra on your explanation of the recent streaming numbers and efforts. I too am crossing my fingers for "Superpower"!!
