nica575 Since I do not follow anyone else, what do you see others doing before an album drop that Adam and team are not doing? I am clueless and curious. Well, I only follow one other artist (aside from Bri and Roger), so My “sample of others” is only that... I started following him just last spring. This is what I see: .. upto 20 posts on Instagram every day, by him, not his team... I mean in just a few months since I’ve discovered him I know his family, his pets, his thoughts, his summer tour inside out, including everything they (him and family) did on the days off, the tour bus driver, the best posts by his fans, his band details, museum trips, various thoughts, etc, etc, etc...and it keeps coming! There were gratitude posts to the fans, the venues, before and after show, excerpts from the shows... made me a really devoted fan! now he has a new song dropping on September 6th. Same thing - tens and tens of little insta snippets daily with reminders, gratitude notices, fan reactions, individual fan acknowledgements and what not. if nothing else all the generated excitement makes the fans feel like they are a part of it all! i mean look at Dr. Bri - how genuinely wonderful he is on Twitter and insta! Even though he doesn’t post THAT often... anyhoo... Adam is doing whatever he finds necessary , but after 10 years I can say that imo he distances himself more and more every year...even now that the era4 is well upon us... YMMV Hoping it’ll change and he’ll start connecting to the fandom, the sooner the better love him regardless Well, he could always do what Clay does...get in touch with the fans when he needs their attention, like money or tickets sold, and then disappear and ignore them the rest of the time...wash, rinse, repeat. Sometimes they don't hear from him for months, especially since he's not very active on social media at all (unless he needs to bitch at somebody lol). I think Adam is doing pretty well as far as connecting to the fans...I just don't think he'll ever be the celebrity that invites us into every little corner of his personal life...and I'm ok with that.

A good interview! But look at his reaction to that protest in St. Petersburg, Russia! Now it seem neither QAL nor Adam solo are going to perform there! Both Queen and Adam have an enormous amount of fans there -this is going to be devastating to both fandoms ( as soon as they translate and post this interview on the major fan sites)...

I don't know what Adam's plans are now but both he and Queen have performed there since that incident. Not St. Peterburg but in Moscow. The SP incident was during the Trespassing tour. I remember it clearly with the threats. Adam and the band toned it down a bit to keep everyone safe. And when he went to introduce the band members they all pulled it in. Terrace more or less just stepped out and took a bow. When it looked as if Johnny was going to ignore and do his usual thing anyway, Adam sorta stepped in front of him and shut it down. The last thing Adam would want to risk was having his band or himself put in jeopardy there. But Adam did return to Russia for TOH tour but only to Moscow. When he was there the one time with Queen, that was only in Moscow as well. But things have gotten worse since then so who knows?

We visited St. Petersburg this summer, and man, I was careful not to say anything to our guide or driver about anything controversial, especially after the guide,2(9 was a very personable woman, talked about how Putin was right to “rescue” Crimea from the Ukraine... yeah, right. I always felt safe there, but not sure how it would be for a gay person...

I believe that a good song can see the light of day if it picks up through streaming. It has happened before. I hope you are right. But Adam has had a lot of really good songs (at least I think he has). But when did anything just takeoff for him with no radio push and push to the big playlists? I guess it is hard for me to believe it is that simple for him. But if and when it happens, I'll be doing back flips along with everyone else, lol. Yup, I would join you with your back flips then

Adam does appear more distant, and I think there is more to it than him being busy.

nica575Thanks for the explanation, it really helps to hear the details. A while back, I said I would love it if Adam would give us a tour of his new house, maybe a room a week with commentary on what attracted him to the design and his renovation choices. I would still like that. He also 'likes' a shit ton of instagram posts, so maybe if he just added to a few comments about why that particular post it would be nice. He has seemed to respond a little more to fan posts recently. Maybe with Adam, we have just been around so long that we know a lot of the answers to most of the questions. Settled like an old married couple.

It's good to hear from someone who follows someone besides Adam. I do not, so I don't have a good perspective. Nica, I'd like to know if the other person follow is quite a bit younger than Adam? I know that shouldn't make a difference, but I guess it does in some cases. Regardless, Adam has fans of all ages. I would love for him to post more about his interests and his activities in general. But like LindaG23 says, we've around so long that we know him pretty well by now.
But as a marketing strategy, keeping more in touch with your fans is always a good thing.

Driving home from work today, I was flitting through the Sirius radio channels and landed on the 80s channel where the dj, Mark Goodman, one of the original MTV vjs, was talking about seeing QAL. He had last seen Queen back in 1980, thought it was a tremendous show, didn't know if QAL in 2019 would match up - but he loved that also and said of Adam - "he's a force of nature! What a voice that guy has!"
