When we were talking about whiplash earlier... I think when it comes to the AMAs, I have severe internal emotional whiplash just thinking about it. Part of me curls up into a fetal position and whimpers, and the other part is all FUCK YEAH!!!! BEST PLATFORM EVAH TO DEBUT A NEW SINGLE!!!!
I go back and forth, back and forth, back and forth ad nauseum.

IF the AMA rumor is true, I would be shocked if anyone would confirm it this far out. They would want to get maximum buzz right before the show. If it were known now, all the articles and press "OMG!!! What will he do this time!!!!" would happen now or slowly over the next month. If they do it, they are going to want it to hit the press as a tsunami right before the show airs - so maybe announce 1 week ahead? - enough time to get into all the press cycles but not so early that it is old news by the time the show airs. It is still a big IF, but I don't think we have a prayer of knowing anything for sure for the next 3 weeks or more.

Woohoo. Today is just fun. Rollercoaster, Yessss!!!!. His may be on the AMA. No, probably Levine. He will have a VH1 Unplugged. No. Yes, Maybe. Pretty pictures to look at . Great article from the Advocate. I think he has hit all most of the major demographics. 1. Project Runway -- fashion, women, gays, music 2. Majors and Minors -- Babyberts and parents,music 3. Advocate -- the pretty, women, girls, gays,music 4. Idol bubble ---  So how does he hook in the straight men? |

Ok, I have had time to mull it over and I have concocted in my head the exact way I want Adam to return to the AMA stage should it happen.
The performance will start with a totally black stage and a screen on the wall projecting headline about the AMA controversy complete with blurred pics and audio of news anchors and various talking heads going on about it, cut with Adam's stuff about double standards, etc. Then I want it to build to headlines and audio talking about him returning to the AMA stage and what will he do next and yadda yadda....and then the screen will go blank and the lights will rise on the stage. There will be simple to almost no stage set up--maybe a band or something depending on what the single needs--and he will look pared down and glamorous in some kind of suit and he will sing THE FUCK out of his song with amazing vocals and everyone will lose their shit. A standing O would be the cherry on top. And then he will just smile and bow and ta da! The end.
Ok time for bed now bc I have given this WAAAAY too much thought. LOL. I am scaring myself.

To do a total 180 from last time when it was all antics and LOOK MA I GOT DANCERS AND A BUNCH OF STAIRS! YEEHAW!! To just come out and slay a song this time without all the accoutrements. Well, I am not saying he has to sit on a stool under a solitary spotlight, but something significantly more toned down. IDK, YMMV. |
