[[smiles] I'm reminded of Pink performing a jaw-dropping aerial "Glitter in the Air" at the Grammies. However, IIRC that she had that song as part of her tour set for a very long time, and - while not many people outside of her fans knew of that routine - the song and the crane work was second nature to Pink at that point. She could focus on the song. Not the lyrics, not the choreography. The song. As I said, I really want Adam to have performed whatever his new song is a batch of times BEFORE its get debuted on tv. So he can sell the song (and, yeah, himself too! ;D )[/quote] Gawd - that "Glitter in the Air" was A-MAAAZING. But, IF Adam is on the AMA's, I hope he keeps his feet on the ground.

Nah - I want dancers, choreo, the works. He just has a significantly better song and sings the fuck out of it. Yeah that would be nice, but I want him to make a statement with his VOICE. To do a total 180 from last time when it was all antics and LOOK MA I GOT DANCERS AND A BUNCH OF STAIRS! YEEHAW!! To just come out and slay a song this time without all the accoutrements. Well, I am not saying he has to sit on a stool under a solitary spotlight, but something significantly more toned down. IDK, YMMV. chunky...I totally agree. He understood the importance of being different all through idol but got carried away for the ama's IMHO. He needs to do the OPPOSITE of what everyone else is doing. so if they are all splash...he needs to stand there in the zone with a vocal nobody else can do and no one can deny!!! YEAHHHHH..... ETA...I guess if it is a dancey showey song, that might need to change...hmmm...myob is the order of the day I spose...

Dear Adam. Please, please, please, please, please, please, PLEASE pick a first single that is completely in the "sweet spot" of your range so you can sing the shit out of it live every.single.time. My blood pressure thanks you.-HSM HSM - you absolutely crack me up! And I second your comment. I have pretty stable BP and would like to keep it that way, but all bets are off when the roller coaster ride begins w/the release of the first single.

That reminds me that after Pink did her sexed-up crotch smoosh a few years ago at the AMA's (I think it was the AMA's) the next time she appeared on an awards show (maybe the AMA's again) she simply sat on a stool with her guitar and sang a beautiful soft song. It was quite amazing. I think it would be the same for Adam. [smiles] I'm reminded of Pink performing a jaw-dropping aerial "Glitter in the Air" at the Grammies. However, IIRC that she had that song as part of her tour set for a very long time, and - while not many people outside of her fans knew of that routine - the song and the crane work was second nature to Pink at that point. So he can sell the song (and, yeah, himself too! ;D ) YES THIS!!! Don't want him to do a new song, where the only thing he has performed it in is in rehearsal, and no time in perfecting it in front of a real live audience.

Oh, and to whoever hasn't seen the Pink performance I'm talking about:
ETA: THIS is the sort of performance you can put on when you're NOT desperately trying to remember new lyrics under pressure or frantically forcing your brain to cough up the choreography you rehearsed for the first time two days prior.
To me, Adam's AMA performance smacked of too much learned in too little time. Add in frustration and adrenaline and the whole routine was wobbling on a knife edge. Flying by the edge of your pants, IMO, has a much better chance of success if you've experienced the flight path before. But Adam was, frankly, underprepared.
I don't want that to happen next time!!!!

Oh, and to whoever hasn't seen the Pink performance I'm talking about: Yeah, I love this song. Was kind of the performance that tipped me over the edge into buying her CD.

Hey Guise, I'm only on page 13 but are we now experiencing a little "sprinkiling" of what will become the Adam Storm?! Look at all these news of late...The Advocate, the rumor of AMA's, new VH1 Unplugged, tweets fr various songwriters/producers, etc. I think we are on the cusp of the impending Storm! Yay for us, for all the waiting is nearly over!

Woohoo. Today is just fun. Rollercoaster, Yessss!!!!. His may be on the AMA. No, probably Levine. He will have a VH1 Unplugged. No. Yes, Maybe. Pretty pictures to look at . Great article from the Advocate. I think he has hit all most of the major demographics. 1. Project Runway -- fashion, women, gays, music 2. Majors and Minors -- Babyberts and parents, music 3. Advocate -- the pretty, women, girls, gays, music 4. Idol bubble --- So how does he hook in the straight men? He does not need straight -- for the most part they just steal music -- he needs music buyers. The biggest music buyers are young women and gay men. So Tweenberts, Teenberts, Ladyberts and Gayberts will do just fine for Adam ETA: Pink's 2010 AMA performance occurred when she was pregant.

I don't think the AMAs deserve Adam ..Any show but that one..I find the show boring, hackneyed and lifeless. IMHO That's not for our exciting and talented Adam. He can live without their blessing!
