 Well, I don't like ANY of the recent Adam pics. The hair is like nails on a chalkboard. Actually, I think I prefer nails on a chalkboard. So there.  We always laugh/shrug and say, "Well, if you don't like it today, don't worry... he'll totally change his hair by the time the next pics come out." Yeah, right. He's been wearing the same hair for MONTHS AND MONTHS. (bitch bitch bitch whine whine) I had an extra big bowl of bitchflakes today, and I'm feeling cranky and desperate and impatient and I don't understand anything about the roll-out of a single. Discussions about radio debuts and digital releases and add dates and the intricacies of timing and which comes first or last or in the middle is all GREEK TO ME (  to gelly!!) I just want another Niles day or something. I want to majorly flail about something.... I want AN OFFICIAL TWEET ANNOUNCING SOMETHING/ANYTHING DEFINITE. |

Yay! I got the DM!
Dumb question.....
I have never sent a DM before! I use web twitter. I typed in the box that says "send The Advocate a message" Then my message that I typed appeared below the box, but it says "Lynneville" but does not have @theadvocatemag in the message. Did I do that right? (I feel like I just DM'd myself, which sounds painful.)

The beauty mark is gorgeous, and funny, and SOOOO Adam, imo. I have always hated those things. It's so 1940's phoney-glamour movie star schtick. But for those that love it (including Adam I assume) great! His look otherwise is so beautiful that I will (almost) forgive the beauty mark. It's just playful, imo. It says "in case anyone had doubts that I was going for a glam look tonight - I was!"  |

Sorry, but your dates are wrong. Wiki says the single was released (for sale) on Sept. 5. The radio add date was Sept. 12. ETA: The song was first played on Seacrest's show on 8/30, but the official release was 9/5. Sorry, I was talking about official premiere, not release for sale. I'll rephrase: The PREMIERE was Tuesday, August 30.I really don't care about the ads dates, sale dates, etc. once the announcement is made and music is debuted, because by then we've already heard it in several interviews and during the premiere, etc. The rest is academic IMO because usually we get stuff in advance anyway. Anyone who pre-ordered FYE had it the week before it's official drop date and the digital download was also available the weekend prior to its "official" drop. I guess was under the impression that add dates do matter. My understanding is that radio play builds awareness and helps drive sales. So, I thought RCA would not want a late November add date, since radio stations will be switching to holiday formats. As I pointed out in my original post, if the single is not announced until early next month and released for sale mid-month, then the add date would be late November. I was just wondering whether this scenario really made any sense from a business perspective. I realize that rabid fans will become aware of the single early and will purchase it right away. But Adam needs more than us to hear and buy the single for it to be a smash hit. Again, just random speculation ... I have done some work with the film and TV industry, but not music, so I'm still learning. Usually in film there is a long lead time to build buzz and anticipation, but I guess the music industry is different. I realize that Adam is worried about leaks and wants to surprise us. But it seemed to me that so much silence at this point is a bit odd. But what do I know? Nada.  |
