Good morning!!🌞 Regarding covers, let's not forget Faith ( George Michael). What's Going On (4Non Blonds) also called What's Up and One More Try ( George Michael) That song was like a religious experience for me! Amazing! I wish Adam would do a CD of these amazing covers!! There's also the Bonnie Rait song, I Can't Make You Love Me -- wow. When I heard Adam do that song, he wiped away tears at the end! Absolutely gut wrenching! He puts more emotion into songs than I thought possible. He touches my soul!! Blue Suede Shoes -Elvis --how singers remember all the words to songs is beyond me. To have that pressure ...boy oh boy. Guess that is why we all have diff strengths and talents! Edit add--- lol... was just remembering when on the Glam Nation Tour...Adam would throw a piece of paper on the floor with the words to a song that he was throwing in that night. One night it was a song --as a tribute to TJ Ratliff's birthday? Sandman? Adam did the Kiev concert without any prompters, and could have eased his stress if they had had them back then, Years later he casually said, they are now a part of the equipment...guess if needed, next song, words?? I think that is what he was meaning.

Can we add some votes for Adam? Apparently Brendon Urie sang BoRhap yesterday on Rock in Rio. Lost of tweets in Portuguese mentioning Adam. Also way to many saying Brendon could replace Adam. I always wonder how they can base that on one song they hear from a singer. Of course there might be people who can sing that one song very well, but the whole catalogue is a whole different ball game. Ing 🖤 @bt_Ing Agora fica a dúvida no ar: Bohemian Rhapsody na voz do Adam Lambert ou na voz do Brendon Urie (Panic! At The Disco)? Que comecem os jogos. #PanicNoMultishow #RockinRio2019 I agree. Brendan sings it well but he is not in Adam's league. I just re-watched (last night) Panic At The Disco/Brendan singing BR at the AMA's and no way he is better. But I'm sure all of the PATD fans would say he is. But Brian and Roger are not looking for a replacement for Adam so there is that, lol. I just wonder how he can always win these rock awards when his music is no more rock than any of the work Adam puts out. But his people brand him that way and he gets a lot of play on all the different charts (Pop/HAC/Rock/Alternative so that helps and goes a long way.

I don't know if anyone mentioned these already, but I'm also very fond of the old Purple Haze performances (and no, that's not because of the "kiss this guy" variation) and Enter Sandman... and I'm sure I'm forgetting something...

To borrow Adam's phrasing, it's "been a minute" since I was interested in album sales figures. When can we expect to get an idea of how Velvet: Side A fared in its first week?

To borrow Adam's phrasing, it's "been a minute" since I was interested in album sales figures. When can we expect to get an idea of how Velvet: Side A fared in its first week? He is not projected to make the top 20. I was hoping he would but without the CD's being out in time to help the sales, that probably hurt him some. And the usual suspects remain at the top with their streams alone. Of course these are only the pojected numbers so I guess there is still a little hope. hitsdailydouble.com/news&id=318167&title=TOP-20%3A-DABABY-IS-UPTOP 20: DABABY IS UP 1 DaBaby (Interscope) 145-155k total activity, 9-11k album 2 Post Malone (Republic) 115-125k, 9-12k 3 The Beatles (Capitol) 75-80k, 65-70k 4 Kevin Gates (Breadwinner's Association) 60-65k, 9-11k 5 Taylor Swift (Republic) 60-65k, 14-17k 6 Whiskey Myers (Wiggy Thump/Thirty Tigers) 40-45k, 40-45k 7 Young Thug (Atlantic) 40-45k, <1k 8 Lil Tecca (Galactic/Republic) 35-40k, <1k 9 Billie Eilish (Darkroom/Interscope) 30-35k, 5-7k 10 Chris Brown (RCA) 28-32k, 3-4k 11 Lizzo (Nice Life/Atlantic) 28-32k, 3-4k 12 Jon Pardi (Capitol Nashville) 27-30k, 19-22k 13 Lil Nas X (Columbia) 24-27k, <1k 14 Ed Sheeran (Atlantic) 23-26k, 17-19k 15 Sturgill Simpson (Elektra) 21-24k, 17-20k 16 Quality Control: Control The Streets, Vol. 2 (QC/Motown/Capitol) 21-24k, <1k 17 Dreamville & J. I just watched yesterday’s The Late Show interviewing Carry Underwood. Guess what? The same familiar pattern: talk about AI, the small town she is from, other country artists, her hosting of CMAs, and then he shows the album she is touring with. not one word about the album or the music other than that... she performed too... i almost feel better about it all ... I assume that promotions are mainly meant to introduce the artist to new audiences (and not to already established fandoms), so it makes sense to me that it is more important to spark interest about the person/artist first, in order to get their work checked out. From an audience perspective, I would not want to listen to someone who I am not familiar with talk about details of their music before I get the chance to figure out what the artist is all about. That's why first impression and likability are so important. I did not see CU at the Late Show last night, but my impression has been that she is pretty sweet and authentic. People can connect with that and likely they get what they see. Same with Taylor Swift.

Thanks for this pattern info, nica575. So it's their template - easy or old research, no originality. But really - singers are there to promote their stuff. I guess the show figures the performance is enough. I think a performance is a good impression already. However, I have been very disappointed in live performances of artists whose records I like. One example is Billie Eilish. I love Bad Guy but I would not check out her music based on what I have seen in Late Night shows. (well, it obviously didn't hurt her as her mv has over 500 million views already)

I think that is what he was meaning. He did "Enter Sandman" by Metallica. Unfortunately, that is one of the few covers that were just not better than the original. IMVHO. That's why I have not included it on my lists. youtu.be/neDIREuF6D8And he DID have a prompter in Kiev. The queenies on their hater forums were up in arms about it!

Love that song but his live performances did not stand up. Of course he got several Grammy nominations for it in rock so the live performances do not matter. Same with Frank Ocean. He won several Grammy's but his live performances at the Grammy's, SNL and some other award shows were awful, imo.
