Adam said in an interview quite a while ago that he always dressed as some sort of vampire on Halloween, so I wouldn't be at all surprised to see a new vampire variation this year. True. And he makes a GREAT vampire. But truly he is a little vampy everyday-- so I hope he manages to make it especially glamfabulously over the top somehow. And I hope Sauli plays into it somehow too. And I hope we see the pictures on all the big sites across the globe!

adamlambert Adam Lambert And please tweet me your costumes too! I'd love to see you all feeling creative. Dress up is the BEST expression (besides music of course)14 seconds ago 1 minute ago I need help here: what does one express by dressing up as a vampire? Or a skeleton? or a zombie? Seriously....I have a hard time with fashion/dress up etc., but Halloween stuff is totally beyond me...aside from "lets concur scary stuff by making fun of it" I can't think of anything... Ummm, because Halloween is fun and it let's you play at being someone else for a few hours?!

No one in my life will change their hairstyle to WHAT I LIKE! DH is now wearing his hair too short- he runs every morning so he wants it as short as possible. DD's hair is too long and I keep telling her college life would be easier if she would get some of it cut off. My BF is letting her hair grow out and it makes her look older, not younger. (I didn't tell her this) My mom needs to color that gray hair. She wants to embrace her age, or something like that. My hair, of course, is fabulous!! Tigerlily, I know I would love you if I knew you. Cute post.

Ummm, because Halloween is fun and it let's you play at being someone else for a few hours?! Yup. It's escapism and fantasy and play. Something that very few adults allow themselves to do most of the time, and Halloween is an acceptable time to do that. Many adults are obsessed with what other people think of them, and saying/doing the right thing, and go through life according to whatever rules apply in their social circle. Halloween gives people permission to go a little crazy (within reason) and just be silly. I find it fascinating that Halloween has become so popular among adults in the U.S. It used to really be totally a kids thing-- dress up as a ghost or witch or whatever, grab a pillowcase and go door-to-door begging for candy. After the scares about tainted/adulterated candy, more parents started keeping their kids home and having parties instead. I think adults crave an outlet for creative expression and a way to tap into their inner child. And it's so fitting that it's Adam's favorite holiday. He lives in the spirit of Halloween every single day.

I love Halloween! If I could still trick or treat without getting looked at like some kind of mental case, I totally would. Costumes are fun! Candy is even funner!

But I must say, sometimes a grown-ass person shows up at the door with no costume and a pillowcase, and it scares the crap out of me. Not sure if they're there for the mini Snickers or for my wallet and stereo...

Costume parties are so much fun. People seem to lose some of their inhibitions when they can be "someone else" for a night. Halloween is the granddaddy of them all, but all kinds of theme parties are popping up and our Party Supply stores have started carrying large selections of costumes and accessories year round.
Some them parties are: any decade (60's, 80's, 20's), luaus, western, trailer trash (I didn't make it up - don't shoot the messenger), ugly shirt contest, mardi gras etc.
Oops. Some guy just came to the door and said the power is going off for a while.
Anyway. I LOVE costume parties. GO, ADAM & SAULI. HAVE A BLAST!!!!
