Well, I am GLAD that he is singing CTY on Corden. I love SP and have been streaming it like crazy. I think it has done pretty darn well on HAC. Breaking the top 40 is no small feat. It's out there on radio, too, which is rare for Adam's music.
I think this is a good time to introduce CTY. I agree that it does have wide appeal. It's romantic and it shows off Adam's voice beautifully. And it has that holiday vibe of wanting to "be with someone you love." So I'm fine with the choice.
He hasn't announced it as the official second single, but that could come soon. Getting CTY out there could have a positive impact on SP, too. New listeners hear one song and then listen to the other. We fans will continue to support both songs. I know I will.
We know he will KILL it tonight. That's one thing for sure.

It's great that fans are excited about CTY. That's just fine. But appearances like Corden are not primarily for fans who've streamed the single on repeat and watched every possible performance - they're to promote the song to those who may not have heard it, or are starting to hear it, in hopes that they'll want to hear more of it. For whatever reason that isn't what Adam has chosen to do, and that's his right, but I'm disappointed that Superpower isn't getting that exposure at a crucial time.

I love CTY but I too am surprised that Adam is singing it while SP is doing well with all things considered. And we are going into the holidays so there will be no new music on the radio for the song to push. And SP did do better on the radio after his The Talk performance. But I really do love CTY for the beauty and emotion. But I hope fans won't try to ruin the song, and the enjoyment of the performance, by over speculating about Adam's mood and trying to get into his head about his recently ended relationship. I am just grateful that he looks fine and I hope he is. He knows what his strategy is, even if we don't, and I doubt it has anything to do with Javi.

Thank you š, that is so kind. I live in Belgium between Brussels and Mechelen, with my husband and my two dogs Jeffke and Miniman (my avatar is my drawing of Miniman). On 2 October, completely unexpected, I rediscovered Adam Lambert through an article on BBC News. At that moment I hadnāt listened to music for almost two years because of a burn-out which made me very sensitive to any noise. I became completely mesmerised by this wonderful man. His looks, his voice, his message of acceptance AND his fans š have since supported me in my moments of doubt, frustration and sadness. THANK YOU FOR YOUR KINDNESS š Pascal, and TY for telling us your āpath to Adamā! you said ārediscoveredā - were you a fan before? Such a warm welcome ššø I had heard Adamās songs before on the radio and knew he was singing with Queen, so I knew of him but not more than that. His message of being the weird kid in school and that itās ok to be who you are, is what most struck me. It was so recognisable, as a child and teenager I felt that I didnāt belong, that I was different, so I adapted, shut my mouth and tried to blend in and be like everyone else to be accepted. Half a lifetime later, it caught up with me and I landed in a big black hole of which I am now slowly getting out.

I agree. I'm sure he'll kill CTY on Corden, but I totally don't get why he's singing it tonight. "Superpower" is doing better than I ever thought it would, but it needs - and deserves - the push. Fans are supposed to be killing themselves streaming the song and requesting it from radio stations (and I get that those things are important), but Adam singing it on television is the best promo in the world. Yes, it's his career and his decision. He can do what he wants; he could go on there and sing "Mary Had a Little Lamb" if the show would allow it. But it makes no sense to me. Well, Superpower has been out for more than 2 months. And to be honest, it hasnāt done that well. I mean, itās doing ok, but I donāt think that an appearance on Cordenās show will change anything. It would get up and down the charts again. But the overall audience (regular music listeners and enthusiasts, radio stations) isnāt too interested in it. Moreover itās not a song at all for the upcoming holiday season. Closer to you fits much better, if you take that into consideration. Superpower paved Adam a way into HAC radio, now Closer to you can possibly take over. In my opinion, itās a song that much more people can relate to and therefore has much better chances to connect. But maybe thatās just me. I never got into Superpower.

Maybe I'm crazy but I would be willing to bet CTY is speaking to him more right now. It's a beautiful song I'm good with either. š¤© CTY will slay tonight more than SP live ever did, and I can't wait!!! I agree, the song likely relates to his own personal life, and no doubt that he will sing it with conviction.

Superpower is out there and doing well, on the charts moving up. We've heard it performed a few times now on TV. Personally I'm ready for a new song and CTY is so beautiful. After seeing the live version he did I believe he will blow the audience away with this song! Can't wait!!!!!! As far as Superpower goes I like it, but my friend who is a casual Adam fan, heard Adam sing it on The Talk and she didn't like it at all. Her words, "why would he sing a silly song like that when he has such a beautiful voice?" I have a hunch she will love CTY if she can stay awake late enough to watch it tonight.

Maybe Iāve missed it, but Iām wondering just now, why weāre thinking Adam is going to sing Closer to you tonight? Was it announced somewhere? On the first page of this thread Gelly posted something from one of the co-writers. So I think people are assuming he must have told them. š¤©
